narrowing down sleeping options

We have been gifted with several items for baby to sleep in and obviously we will keep the crib, but I'm wondering if having a pack and play and a in-bed co-sleeper are too much. We travel a lot so I can see the merits of the pack and play, but I'm wondering if keeping the co-sleeper is worth it to?

Re: narrowing down sleeping options

  • I'd suggest keeping the pack n play. I used it in my room for the first few months. If you don't plan on co-sleeping return your co-sleeper and use the money for diapers and wipes. You'll need lots of them

  • Do you have more than one level to your house? If so I'd use the cosleeper for your room and the PnP for your living room. That way you're not going up & down stairs all day.

  • I would keep it unless you need to sell it to buy something you know is more important.

I personally kept the PNP in the living room and used it for naps. The co-sleeper sat in our bedroom for night time use.

  • I should have specified it is an "in the bed co-sleeper".

  • I guess the real question is do you plan to co sleep? If so it may be worth it to you.

I was not comfortable with co sleeping so the co sleeper would be a return item for me. We use our pnp at least 6 times a year for a week or more at a time, and DD slept in it every night for the first 6 ish months. So for us that was a necessity.

  • I would keep it all until you know what your baby will like.

  • if you doubt you'll use the in the bed cosleeper, you can return it & if you want it later, can repurchase it. We cosleep out of necessity (LO wouldn't sleep otherwise) & looking at those in bed ones, I didn't think for our circumstances that they'd be any better. We don't move much in the night though, have a big matteress that is firm & LO had good neck/head control early on when she and I moved from the arm chair back into the bed because my back as ready to give out.
