BETA only went up 15%

Called my OB on Friday 1/24 bc I had some pink tinged discharge on the TP when I went to the bathroom. The doctor told me it was probably fine and to stay in bed and drink lots of water. By Saturday there was no more color on the TP and I was feeling more positive about the pregnancy. Sunday I started having awful lower back pain which felt a lot like a pinched nerve. I went to my OB on Monday because I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep, sit, walk etc. I saw a midwife who did a U/S. The U/S only showed a gestational sac but nothing else. She said she couldn't say much and to do what I needed to ease the back pain. I went to get betas drawn and they came back 3498. Wednesday my BBT took a plummet and I figured I was just waiting to start bleeding. I repeated the betas Wednesday and they only came back 3999. The nurse called to give me the results and said a miscarriage was imminent and there was nothing I could do. I can't describe how painful that was to hear. She said I had to go again Friday or Saturday to get blood drawn to make sure my numbers have started falling like they anticipate they will. I also have an appt on tuesday night (2/4) at which they want to "make sure my body is taking care of the miscarriage" and if it isn't discuss options. Since then my temps have gone back up, my breasts are super sore, I have had NO spotting and the back pain has resolved. I feel like my body is toying with me. I am so sad and just wish this would all be over with.

I'm so sorry to hear about this! I can't imagine how difficult it must be to hear that news. I hope that knowing there are lots of ladies that have been through or are going through something similar makes you feel a little less alone in this situation. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Thanks.... I just always thought if I was going to miscarry I would just start bleeding and it would be over with. This whole numbers going up but not enough is so frustrating because technically I am still pregnant and 6 weeks along. I keep praying Ill be one of those miracle pregnancies where the numbers just don't tell the real story.

I'm really sorry you're going through this right now. This limbo stage is absolutely cruel. Once you get to this point in a pregnancy, betas can be a little screwy. FX super hard for your u/s on Tuesday. {{{Hugs}}}

Took us 14 months for our first BFP so it just doesn't seem fair that this is the way it is going

I'm going through the same thing. My appt is on Tuesday as well to do a final us to confirm that I am miscarrying and then to discuss options. It just sucks. I am so sorry you are going through this as well. Sending hugs your way.

Thank you for all of the support .....as if I wasn't frustrated enough I waited at labcorp for an hour this morning only to find out my doctors never sent te order for my third round of betas and I now have to wait till Monday .....unbelievable ....I called the on call doctor who said their was nothing she could do and she was sorry. She seemed surprised that I hadn't had anymore cramps or bleeding and that my back pain had resolved ....said maybe the numbers weren't telling the whole story but honestly I would rather not have false hope.....
