Pregnant after 35

when did you get your energy back?

Just curious, it's probably a little harder for us "maturer" moms. I am 9-10 weeks and feel okay this week but the past couple of weeks I could of went to bed at 6-7pm at night. I know they say 1st trimester can be draining just curious as to when you started to feel better/more like yourself. I hope I am slowly turning that corner. I have a 2.5 year old. to keep up with.

  • I started to turn the corner around week 12 or 13 as far as the extreme fatigue. I hope you do soon, too!

  • 12-13w. But then I had a week or 2 in the 2nd tri that was rough but I've been good since. Now 3rd tri and getting up to pee 1-2 times a night has affected my sleep so I'm tired but not as bad as 1st tri.

  • I believe by 14 wks I caught a second wind... now I'm back to exhaustion!  Best wishes
  • The second trimester is always fine for me.  With this past pregnancy, I hiked, went to the gym, and took a vacation -- felt great the whole time, even though I'm in my 40s.  The third tri was a different story.  Enjoy the second!
  • I still haven't got my energy back. So looks like it may be awhile like till this little guy is 2 :P

  • Around week 12 or 13, I think.  This later part of 2nd trimester has been more off and on though - for the past month (so weeks 22ish to 26ish) it almost seemed to alternate between tired and good.  Also the getting up to pee (and to drink water - I'm crazy thirsty at night, maybe due to this permanent stuffy nose, and often it's the thirstiness that wakes me up) is more like 2-4 times most nights so that doesn't help.  Sometimes only once though.

I felt better around week 16, when morning sickness started to fade. But the third trimester is kicking my butt. I've had an irritable uterus for both pregnancies, and irritable is exactly how I feel!! I have a 2 year old too, so I feel your pain! They're hard to keep up with. We read a lot, and I pull a chair over and sit while he's playing as much as possible. I'm definitely done after two though! I usually feel pretty young and energetic, but this pregnancy has made me feel ancient!
So sorry to hear this. Thank you for sharing your experience. It seems like you are making good modifications as best as you can.

I am 13w2d, and I am feeling a lot more like my normal self again. I went to Zumba today and could keep up well.

I was utterly exhausted during the first trimester, and there were a few days that I took 3-4 hour power naps. I don't feel that way now (for now, at least).

I just started to regain my energy sometime last week.
