A few of the ladies in my BWI group went to the one in Oregon last year. I really wanted to go to it this year, but the closest one to us will be in Colorado and it's supposed to be some weird hippie camping thing. I'll pass.

Yeeeeeeah I don't know if I would want to go then, camping with a baby doesn't really sound like a fun time to me.

FWIW the Austin one isn't a camping thing so they aren't all the same.

Not all of them are camping. Just the one in Colorado. It's cool thing though. Last year the moms came back with a ton of free stuff, including diapers and baby carriers.

I really wanted to go last year to try carriers, but the Philly one was less than a month after my due date and I didn't want to buy tickets and then not be able to go. I hope that I can go this year.

@bookitup, I agree that the majority of people who are lurkers are not lurking in a creepy way. I just find it weird that I'm basically broadcasting my personality out on the interwebs for anyone who wants to see it and I have no idea who those people are, haha.

And don't be afraid to post on Parenting! They are super welcoming there! I like to mix it up there myself on occasion.

I think it's creepy if you assume the worst, but I think most people are just shy or self-conscious and don't know what to post to contribute. I think a lot of people just like "listening" and aren't trying to be all stalker-y. At least that's my intention when I read on other boards. I love the Parenting board but I am way too self-conscious to post there because there are so many "big" personalities I'm afraid I'll get shot down. It might not seem like it if you're one of them, but CD has some intimidating personalities, too.

And who are these intimidating personalities you speak of? I think you must mean hilarious

I can understand why someone wouldn't post on Parenting. That place can be very intimidating. I barely post there anymore. Here though is much different, there's some snark, but this group is a lot more close knit? Essentially I love you guys.
