Emotional Hot Mess

Ugh. I don't know if it's the hormones kicking in or what, but I've been a complete train wreck the past few days. DH has been out of town for work since Tuesday, so that support system is just not totally here at the moment. I've been tearing up and crying and getting andy over the most ridiculous of things.

For example: My dog has a dumb skin rash on his leg that I'm worried about and I actually called my DH last night at about 10pm crying because I felt bad for him and was afraid that his leg might have to be amputated. In hindsight, It was really ridiculous. I also got weepy as I was hanging new photos I printed from a recent vacation. What?!

Anyone else feeling like an absolute hotl mess right now? What are you crying about these days?

  • Ugh yes. I am a damn train wreck. I get mad at the drop of a hat and have cried so many times this week. Freaking ridiculous. I cried in the bathtub yesterday for no reason, I have been reading birth stories on TB which brings about a waterfall, and my DD spilled my cup of water just a little while ago which in turn made me want to cry.

  • Well I just realized how many typos there were in my first post. Dang iPhone fingers!

And yes, @kmbk27 I am right there with you! I have never been one to get weepy about movies or tv shows, but I have been. I was watching The Carrie Diaries with my sister a few nights ago, and I was feeling myself tear up because I was so happy about what was going on in the show. I'm ashamed of myself sometimes these days.

  • I am so glad you posted this. Just in the last hour I started crying about everything. EVERYTHING! It all started as I read this blog about how 'you were once a wife before a mommy'...someone posted it days ago on here. That got me going, since this is our first pregnancy and totally overwhelming.

My husband is going to get home from work, see me curled up in the fetal position on our bed (I stayed home from work today due to what feels like fairly extreme m/s), ask me what is wrong...and all I'll be able to say is I. Don't. Know!

Up until this, I felt emotionally stable and glad that, despite my terrible m/s, I a least wasn't an emotional wreck. Lost that battle... I guess it comes with the territory?

PS I would feel the same way about my dog! I hope his leg is ok. My dog is otherwise healthy, but the last 6 months she has had various infections, developed allergies, etc., so I watch her like a hawk now to see if her behavior indicates infection again. If I think I see it coming, my stress level goes through the roof (as I consider sleepless nights and more vet bills!). It completely breaks my heart when she is in discomfort. GL to you and puppy, hope the rash goes away!
  • I remember during my first pregnancy when my husband came home to me watching Friends & crying hysterically. He ran over to me thinking something was wrong..he almost died laughing when all I could say between heaving sobs was "I just want Ross & Rachel to be together!"

I've been lucky to (so far) not be a super emotional mess this time around. I'll give it a few more weeks.

  • I sat at home two nights ago watching tv and found myself crying.  My husband was working and it was just me and my dogs. Silly, I know. And I have zero idea why I was crying but I was. Pregnancy hormones can do some wacky stuff to us that's for sure!

  • I just cried because DH ate my last Peppridge Farm cookie. So stupid! He felt so bad that he went to store and bought another bag.

  • A couple days ago, in Pittsburgh there was a K9 officer that was wounded while taking down a suspect. It's been on the news since and last night, he took a turn for the worse and didn't make it. So watching the news this morning, they show all the officers and other K9 units standing in a double line, honoring their fallen brother as he was carried under a flag. I. Bawled. Like. A. Baby. Thankfully, SO was in the shower and I was able to pull myself together before he got out. Otherwise, I'm just really cranky and short tempered.

Why did I just google this?!!? Holy buckets of tears, Batman. Poor sweet Rocco.

(It doesn't help that Rocco is my dog's name as well.)

  • Every time my dog has the slightest issue, I freak out and think I'm going to have to put her down, so I know what you mean there! But I did that before I was pregnant too, so I can't blame that.

  • I've been mothering my two rescue dogs a lot lately. Like a LOT. Although I'm not teary, I'm definitely a worry wart and have been easily irritated at every other little thing. Husband is being very patient with me.

  • Last night my pregnancy hormones were so crazy that I got a kick out of it in the end. We were laying in bed and my husband kept rubbing his cold ass feet on me so I flipped out on him telling him that if he wanted to touch me with his feet in the winter he needed to put some damn socks on. He had a snarky comment back, which made me start crying and then about 10 seconds after that I busted out laughing (while still crying) because the whole thing was so ridiculous. Then my husband decided it was okay to laugh with me with a good, "oh yea, you're pregnant for sure. This is cute and hilarious at the same time."
