Re: NBR: Rec your favorite drugstore makeup

  • As a nail tech, opi is going to be your best bet application wise, however, not many drug stores carry that. The runner up in my professional opinion is Essie. Don't even mess with Sally Hanson or any of the other crap, it never dries and gets really clumpy and you will not be happy with your nails. For base and top coat, Seche Vite is the best, I know walmart carries both Essie and Seche vite. The Seche Vite comes in a black and white box, btw, in case it's hard to spot.

In my unprofessional opinion, I really love remmel brand blush! And the best Chapstick is Burt's bees. Smells amazing and some of them are tinted if you like. I like the tinted ones that come in the cardboard tube... If that makes sense.

I also like EOS Chapstick, comes in a little egg looking thing. Never had softer lips! Too bad my dog ate it...

I know for sure walmart and Walgreens have all these things.

    Hope this helps!! :)

  • I also recommend Essie nail polish and either EOS or Burt's bees Chapstick.
  • I love Essie's colors but I can't figure out how to get it to stop chipping.
For a really cheap polish I like sinful nails.. You can find it at Walgreens. It doesn't chip for a long time!
  • For lip balm I love Blistex DCT. Usually I am all about Burt's Bees or Tom's of Maine or brands like that, but I LOVE Blistex DCT.

  • My favorite nail Polish is Orly but it's only sold at beauty supply stores. As for drugstore brands, I like Sally Hansen. I like Covergirl makeup. As for Chapstick, I like the basic Burt's Bees.

  • I typically use OPI or Essie. Nieva honey Chapstick and no blush!

  • Another vote for Essie nail polish- they sell it at target.

For blush, i like the flirt! brand they sell at kohls.

    Agree with OPI and Essie.

I like Burt's bees but my lips get really dry so I use blistex or Chapstick brand in the heavy duty moisture or medicated. I've also heard good things about EOS.

I had a Rimmel blush that was pretty good, but typically prefer to spend a little extra for quality.

Eta: autocorrect wanted blistex to be 'bloated' hah

  • I like Chapstick brand, EOS, and aquaphor when they are really dry.

No nail polish for me- I'm horrible at it.

Blush- I like ulta brand and almay
  • I like Essie polish, OPI is a close second.  When Ulta has a buy 2 get one 1 free deal going on nail polish, I use a coupon on top of it and stock up - I end up with 3 polishes for like $12 :)

For chapstick, I like actual chapstick brand.

I don't use drugstore blush (prefer Bare Minerals).
