3rd Trimester

Information not ready for....

Now I am officially nervous! Was told today that we can have the little one in the next 2 weeks, nurses at my doctors office are taking bets! LOL! My DD is not till March 2nd and we are not ready, we thought we were going to have another 4 more weeks, but found out today during a non stress test that I am having "decent" contractions every 30ish minutes and minor ones at least every 10 minutes. So yea, not the news I was expecting today. On the good side if she does come now she is "fully developed" and will be able to breath on her and be ok. :) Which is good. I wonder if they messed up on my DD in the first place. So I am officially very nervous now.

  • I also just found out my little one will be coming early. Scheduled c-section at 37 weeks. Eeek! I thought I had longer! I feel the same way as you!

  • Yeah.... I was told the same at 38 weeks. DS came at 41w2d. Also, 40 weeks is considered the new medically acceptable "fully baked/developed". 37-39 weeks is considered early term.

  • I was told at 37 w appointment that I still had plenty of time. DS was born at exactly 38 w. So you really never know. Babies come when they do.

  • It drives me crazy when ob's give FTMs false hope. It could be tonight it could be March 9th. You are going to miserable for weeks if you get your hopes up. Enjoy your crappy 3rd tri sleep.

  • My OB has said baby will be here sooner rather than later most of my pregnancy (previous 2nd tri loss/PTL). At 37 weeks, he said I would not make it to 39-my scheduled induction. Tomorrow is induction. I've not had many signs of impending labor, so it looks like we'll be going through with induction!

  • Nope other sighs yet. He says I am still "firm". Both my doctor and the hospital staff the done my non-stress test both told me at 34 weeks if I go into labor they are not going to stop it. Along with that the nurses said the way my contractions were looking they wouldn't be surprise if she came in the next 2 weeks. I told them I didn't want her coming for at least another 3-4 weeks and they said the baby will come when she's ready. Nurses said from all the test and everything she is OK to come out and will do just fine. She said most time with situations like these they come early and no biggie. Oh I don't mind they were taking "bets" on it they were just goofing around being silly. They are some of the nicest nurses you could ask for.

  • Have they done an amnio? Because I'm pretty sure that's the only test that will tell them how developed her lungs are.

  • I've had "decent" contractions every 20 minutes and small contractions lasting 20-30 seconds every few minutes for the past three weeks. It's exhausting but it is what it is. My doctor told me it was simply "early labor" which can last for a few weeks and to not worry unless contractions became closer.
