Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone has recommendations for books about nutrition while TTC and during pregnancy? I'm curious about what kinds of vitamins I should be taking and what kinds of foods I should eat or avoid. Thanks!
Take a prenatal vitamin starting now. Other than that, I don't think certain foods increase your chances of a baby and I wouldn't trust a book that said otherwise. Leave that stuff to Dr. Oz! A healthy diet is a healthy diet.
I know how to eat a healthy diet already but am more concerned about how much of what types of vitamins to have and if there are certain foods you shouldn't have while TTC or pregnant. I know there is some issue with mercury in fish or avoiding deli meats for example, but I don't know what of that I should or shouldn't have and if there are other foods that I should be similarly concerned with. I'm new to TTC and just want to be prepared as best I can. Maybe a general pregnancy or preconception book would be a better place to start!
For every article that says you shouldn't eat something you can find another that says its no big deal. Research is good, but don't get too stressed about what you should or shouldn't do. If you eat lunchmeat, so be it, etc.
