Bruce's birth mother contacted the agency today and would like to meet us after all!

We will be setting up a meeting in about a month, once we've had time to get settled and some attachment forming. We're so thrilled that she's decided to at least meet us, even if it doesn't lead to continued contact.

I'm so happy to hear it!

When you see her, try to get as many pictures with her as possible. This was the advice given to us when we went to get the boys: get as many pictures with yourselves and their caregivers as possible, because those pictures will help them understand the continuity of their lives. It's not the before and after, one life ended and another began; it's all one life, with some people now being distant, but all of whom loved them and were happy for them when they entered our family.
