Yesterday morning I woke up with pretty heavy red blood at 6w3d. I even passed a quarter sized clot when showering, which I was certain was the fetus. I called my OB's office about it, to which they replied "yeah, it sounds like you've probably lost it". This would be my 2nd mc in one year after 3 yrs of trying and fertility treatments. I waited and waited for them to call me back. Finally they tell me to come in at 12:45 for u/s and pelvic exam. When I go in for my u/s, the tech finds the gestational sac, the yolk sac, and the fetus.
Then...all of a sudden...I saw it! The heartbeat! I hadn't lost my baby! It was beating at 111 bpm and I was measuring 6w1d!!! I started sobbing uncontrollably and so did my hubby! After a pelvic exam, the Dr said that it was most likely implantation bleeding that got caught and eventually expelled by the growing baby in my tummy and that she didn't see any active bleeding, just old blood!!! She said my cervix is nice and hard and closed! And no bleeding around the uterus ANYWHERE!
I am so overjoyed right now that you guys can't believe it! You read all of these horror stories on here and having had a previous mc - I was SURE that's what was happening! I go back on my original 1st OB appt (2/17) for a follow up. I'll be 8 wks at that point!
Just wanted to put this out there that bleeding isn't always a bad sign! Sometimes things turn out GREAT! Good luck to everyone!
