Babies in church

Just wondering what you guys think about this...
Lots of ladies at my church have been having babies, and a most of them have brought their newborns to church with them the week or two following delivery. I personally think that is wayyyy too soon to be taking a newborn to a public gathering in which you can expect lots of people touching baby. What do you ladies think? When would you feel comfortable taking baby to church/ other gatherings?

Me and H decided that 4-6 weeks we will go back.
At least after the three week growth spurt when we can actually start some sort of a schedule for baby.
We'll play it by ear!

I'll probably stay home with LO for about 4 weeks.. And even after that he will stay in the carrier for a couple more. I'm a FTM and that stuff makes me nervous.

That soon after birth it was more that I didn't feel like leaving the house. But hey, I took DS to the hospital (BFing clinic) and the doctor's office, which are probably the germiest places ever.

Maybe this is just me but I really didn't have issues with lots of people touching my newborn. At most, people might try to tickle his feet or something.

Well, I'm personally not going to sit at home for 8+ weeks til baby has his main shots, and baby is going to go where I go (unless it's a 30 minute errand) so I can (hopefully!) BF on demand, soo....

I think we may wait for 3 weeks to go to church with ours. To me, that seems reasonable!

Depending on how I feel will determine when we go. I have no problem bringing him to church with us. He will stay in his car seat or be worn.

I wholeheartedly agree with this. MIL just dropped off FOUR BP cuffs.... She came by to take my BP, but I was in the middle of a stupid argument with DH and he wouldn't let her inside. I wish he had... No one asked her to take my BP. My 'sweet' husband mentioned that we wanted to borrow a BP cuff when he talked to her, and didn't tell her why. After I told him to just buy a stupid cuff... I should mention that he asked this several days ago and already borrowed one from them. She just wanted to come by to show me how to use it and drop off four more for no reason... Now I'm mad that he didn't let her inside. I still haven't gotten an opportunity to give her a piece of my mind and he's trying to prevent it because he thinks I'll be too mean. Too bad. He had his chance. Grrrr.

WTH. So she thinks 'i'm going to take her Bp'. Is she a nurse? It would make a little more sense to me. (Thats setting aside the fact that she is BSC).
Who does that- taking bp on someone who doesn't even ask.
There are so many questions. You MIL is a piece of work!

@chalephoto - you need to move far far away from them!!! In the mean time - switch churches for the fact that MIL keeps WAY overstepping boundaries! And DH needs to stop letting her control everything!
