Happy Chinese New Year to all the TTCALers!
In Chinese culture, the new year is considered a time to get rid of all the old, bad and negative energy in our lives and welcome in the new. This year is the year of the horse, a strong and energetic animal, and I am hoping this year will usher in those strengths for all of us ladies.
The new year is also considered a great time to welcome in prosperity (meaning both money and luck) and fertility. So, I thought I'd share a bit of that here. Traditionally, you welcome these things into your life by eating certain symbolic foods or wearing the color red. Every year, my MIL (who is Chinese) offers us duck, fermented oysters, pomegranates and red dates to bring us fertility. I told her to load me up on the fertility foods this year!
Here's to bringing all of you luck and fertility this new year!
