Yogurt.

I am not a fan of yogurt. I've tried many times, but would like to introduce it to LO. We will begin doing this in the next few days. Do you and LO have a preference? We live in a small town so I would prefer something you can find at your local wally-world or Kroger. I've seen stoneyfields, Chobani, Fage or Dannon Greek. I make all his food myself so I would like something on the healthier side. Thanks!!

Re: Yogurt.

  • I just got whatever plain, full fat yogurt I could find. However, I got a big tub of it and it turns out LO hates it. I think it's the way it sort of coats your mouth because it makes him gag. So my advice is to just get a small container first to see how it goes. I will try again with him in a couple weeks, but the big tub will expire by then :(.

  • I get Trader Joe's whole milk yogurt (not Greek, but a lot of people here use Greek yogurt). I then mix in some fruit puree. LO really likes some cinnamon in there, too.
Thanks---however, we don't have a trader joe's, target or whole foods here. So I am restricted to walmart and kroger.

  • I found regular, full fat yogurt at Walmart. It was in a big tub though. They did not have plain, full fat Greek yogurt. But DD does like it.

  • For about $20 you can buy a yogurt maker on Amazon and make it however you'd like in big or small quantities :)

  • I get fage Greek yogurt for Colton and me from our local Kroger. But I consider any Greek yogurt with live cultures and no added fruit 'healthy'.

  • My MIL makes huge batches of yogurt. If you are willing to put the time and effort towards it, that's probably your best bet for ensuring the healthiest product.
  • Has anyone had luck finding full fat Greek yogurt? (Is there such thing?) I can find whole milk regular yogurt and low fat greek yogurt. I want the best of both worlds!
