TTC after 35

Test him first?

So AF arrived yesterday right on schedule. I was relieved and disappointed at the same time (anyone who is familiar with me now gets this) Anyway, Hubby has a Dr appt this month, a regular check up and a follow up to some intestinal stuff thats happening with him. I told him mention to the Dr we are TTC and get a lab slip to make sure his swimmers are good. He said he would. The reason Im pushing this is because he is on Lysinopril (sp) and I read that blood pressure med can have an effect and i have read mixed things on the one he takes.

Any ladies have a hubby on the same med that can give me insight?

They are going to schedule hubby for some stuff that is going to make TTC impossible for a couple months form what the nurse told him…..upside….I have time to work my butt off and get in shape?? lol.

Re: Test him first?

  • My DH is also on Lisinopril. He is seeing a urologist for low testosterone and borderline low normal count. His urologist has never mentioned issues with Lisinopril and TTC.  He obviously knows we are trying since that is why we see him. His numbers have not gotten worse since he started taking it. Once you have your results, you can ask the doctor if there is a reason to be concerned- hopefully there won't be though.

  • no advice about that particular medication....

but I think it is always a good idea to get the swimmers checked especially if you have been trying for more than a few months and there is a history or you are dealing with other medical issues.

    good luck!

  • I'm familiar w/ the medication but not it's affects on sperm. I would advocate getting him checked. I thought our issues were all me, because my cycles are weird. But it turns out, it's him too...low motility.

    Good luck though!
