Trying to Get Pregnant

Daily Food/Exercise Checkin 1/31

Yesterday:
B: avocado toast
L: creole chicken (it was on the "lighter side" part of the menu at the place I went for lunch. What I really wanted was the baked potato soup.)
D: a few pieces of sausage and some scrambled eggs.
S: a few too many oreos. I really need to forget where those are kept in the house.
E: none.

Hope everyone has a great day!

  • Ugh. My eating has been weird because my metformin is making me sick and basically have no appetite. The past few days I have had to force myself to eat because if I don't the metformin will just make me more sick. So yesterday my day looked like this:

    B: Cereal
    L: Nothing
D: Small cheese pizza - this is NOT on my PCOS diet, but it was literally the only thing that has sounded good in days so I just ordered it.

The good news is I lost another 2lbs last week. The bad news is that I didn't do it in a very healthy way because of the side effects of my medicine :( Anyone have any tips for dealing with this?

I am eating low carb/low sugar, so lots of protein and fruits and veggies and very little grains. I think another part of my problem is that I am getting really sick of eating the same things. I eat a lot of turkey bacon, eggs, cauliflower, and fish. I need to figure out how to switch it up, but again, literally nothing sounds good to me.

  • @Aaren91011 Greek yogurt is a good suggestion from @WhoCanItBeNow. You can use it as a substitute for cream in a lot of recipes. Skinnytaste is a really good website to find healthy recipes and it has all the nutritional information so you know if it will be good for your diet.

  • Yesterday:
B: My crazy morning smoothie (plain FF yogurt, pom juice, goji berries, bee pollen, coconut oil, hemp seeds, frozen mixed berries, mango and banana)
    L: Leftover chicken tortilla soup
    D: Orange Pork and Broccoli
S: Carrots and celery with ranch, a few cubes of cheddar cheese and a piece of Dove chocolate
E: 45 minutes of TRX...man am I out of shape!

So happy my husband is on the "eating well" band wagon, he has a race coming up in a few months and realized we have had a bit too much fun this winter eating and drinking.

  • @aaren091011 If you are looking for options beyond low carb (which I hate because carbs are your energy source), try looking up the low Glycemic Index (GI) diet. You will still get carbs there, but it focuses far more on getting the right amount of the right kind of carbs.
Thanks for the recommendations! I have been trying to follow the low GI diet - I do eat a lot of "good carbs" that are found in things like veggies, fruits, and I eat some whole grains. I LOVE sweet potatoes and I eat greek yogurt with fruit almost every day with my lunch.

I think I do need to do more research on a low GI diet though and drill down on the best things for me to eat. I might be cutting out too many carbs which could be exacerbating the tiredness/nausea I am feeling from my medicine. I also just got upped to 1,500 mg a day so I will hopefully adjust to it soon.
