Babies!

The twins are here! Anna Marie and Emma Jane arrived at 8:15 and 8:17pm on Tuesday night. Anna weighed 4lbs 9oz and Emma weighed 5lbs 11oz. They were scheduled to arrive Monday February 3rd but after my growth scan on Tuesday my doctor decided it was time to get them out. Unfortunately, because I was only 35w we had to be transferred to a bigger hospital with a NICU. So I had to leave my doctor and pediatrician and rely on the hospital staff here. They've been great! It was crazy to go from routine NST and appointment to c-section in one afternoon!

The c-section itself went great, it was much less scary than I anticipated but the recovery has been a little tough. It's hard to keep up with the pain medication when I'm constantly in the NICU with the babies. Ouch, I let it get pretty bad yesterday before going back to the maternity unit for meds. Not a good choice!

The good news is that the babies are doing great! We're doing a combination of breast and bottle feeds and they're eating like champs! Anna is having a bit of trouble regulating her body temperature but otherwise just needs to grow a little bigger and stronger and they'll let them come home. I'm being released tomorrow so I'm feeling a little anxious about being in hospital limbo but my H has been amazing so I know we'll get through this.

Olivia hasn't been able to meet her sisters yet because the NICU is off limits to children but she definitely knows that something is up. My parents are staying with her at home and say that she's been happy as a clam but when she visits the hospital she's been very tentative about approaching me. :( I miss my big girl like crazy! I can't wait until we're all home together.

Now for some pics! Here are my little bundles:
