Night crew

Anybody up?? I am. First feeding of the night. Hoping for only one more. It's our first day off and I want DD to catch up on some sleep credits.

Qotn: what does your perfect day look like?

Re: Night crew

  • I'm up. I'm getting so frustrated. LO absolutely will not sleep at night anymore. I get two hours at the most. I know, I know. it will pass but I'm running on fumes. She used to sleep so well and it's making me feel like I'm doing something wrong. And SO is no help, he'll get up with her once and if she starts fussing (which she always does) he just hands her off and goes back to bed. I just told him to go figure it out, I'm fucking exhausted. Sorry for the vent.

Honestly a perfect day to me right now would be a day all by myself. Go to a nice spa, get a massage, peace and quiet, and a nap! Oh god how I would love a nice mid afternoon nap after watching Ellen :)

  • I am heading back to bed (hopefully). LO is still feeling better, I think just very hungry from being on pedialyte formula combinations... I would be hungry too if I was just drinking watered down milk.

My perfect day would start with a long run in the morning, a long shower, a massage, then a couple of glasses of wine underneath a blanket by the fire.

  • I am so glad I am not the only one who is up multiple times at night. My pediatrician told us LO should be sleeping 12 hours straight every night without eating (which she has never given more than a 5 hour stretch, and even that is rare). Makes me feel like I am doing something wrong! But I think Lyla just doesn't like to sleep as much as her mama! :) haha but hopefully that will change in the future.
I agree with the perfect day is a day all to myself. Sleeping in, trip to the gym, massage/pedi, watch a good movie with some yummy take out.

  • LO got up at 3:30 but luckily went right back down after I changed and fed her. I just woke her up at 7 am, as I'm trying to gradually get her used to waking at the same time every day in preparation for when I go back to work in a few weeks.

I don't know if it was just a coincidence, but LO has been sleeping much better since DH and I decided to be 100% consistent with how we put her down. We've always had a bedtime routine, but she had been taking hours to go down and then started waking up and staying up for hours in the MOTN. We used to bounce/rock/walk her until she was totally asleep, but she would wake when we tried to put her in her crib, so we finally tried laying her down when she was drowsy and shush-patting her in the crib. Sometimes she will get upset such that we need to pick her up to calm her, but she has been falling asleep while lying in her crib with us shush-patting, and I think it's helping her put herself back to sleep when she wakes at night. Sorry for the novel, but I'm hoping my experience can help others going through sleep troubles, if only to give hope that it will get better!

QOTN: a run along the beach, shower, hot breakfast, then back to bed for cuddles with DH and as much sleep as I want (which means LO and the dog would need to be elsewhere)!

  • LO has been a great sleeper lately, but DS1 on the other hand has been up all night crying because "Nose!!!!" (He has a cold).
I moved to the couch again because DH was snoring so badly and have had shit for sleep since.
QOTN: Oh, I like the spa day idea with a massage, pedicure and all the Mexican food I could possibly eat.
