PSA: Britax Recall

The Britax B-Agile single and double have been recalled due to a latch mechanism that can amputate or otherwise seriously injure fingers.  They have a repair kit available.

  • Bummer...I have this one and just picked one up last night for my SIL for her baby shower gift. But thanks for passing this along. Do you know when I call in if they will want any numbers directly off the stroller?

    This recall involves Britax B-Agile, B-Agile Double and BOB Motion strollers. The single and double strollers were sold in various color schemes, including black, red, kiwi, sandstone, navy and orange. They were manufactured between March 2011 and June 2013 and have the following model numbers: U341763, U341764, U341782 and U341783 for the B-Agile strollers; U361818 or U361819 for the B-Agile Double strollers; and U391820, U391821 and U391822 for the BOB Motion strollers. The model number and the manufacture date in YYYY/MM/DD format can be found on label located on the inside of the stroller’s metal frame near the right rear wheel.

  • Just got off the phone with Britax...if you pre-registered the stroller you will automatically receive the repair kit within 10 days, otherwise call up with the model number/register online and you will get it.

    She said their is nothing wrong with the stroller, but people were just getting their fingers pinched in it. The repair kit is two pieces of plastic over one of the wheels the lady said...hopefully it won't be to difficult to fix it.

  • It says carseats bought May 2011-June 2013. I'm pretty sure we got ours in July or August last year. Guess I need to dig up my receipt!

    We got ours in July but it was manufactured 10-21-2012. That's what's printed on the stroller anyway. Laaaame.

    Yeah I need to check! I didn't register mine either. Hopefully it's not too much of a hassle!

    That's what my husband and I both said. We have never had any issues, or felt like there could be an issue with it. User error for sure.

    I mentioned this to my mother last night, as DH and I have never had an issue with it.  Her reply?  Thank God!  I almost chopped my finger off more than once with that.  Apparently it's harder than it looks? /:)
