Trying to Get Pregnant

Newbie. AND AF came today :(

SO I am out. AF showed up on cd39. I am hoping for a normal cycle coming up. A friend took Soy Isoflavenes and had luck this past month. She also had abnormally long cycles and it helped. I only did OPK last month so this month I am adding the Soy and considering temping but I feel that is a HUGE commitment and honestly I am not even sure exactly how it works. Any insight on the soy or temping would be helpful :)

Thanks and good luck to everyone!!

  • I signed up for FF last night, thanks :)

  • My advice?  Stay away from soy isoflavones.  A 39-day cycle is hardly abnormally long.

I would start temping now to confirm if you're ovulating or not.  If you see a consistent pattern of long, anovulatory cycles, get in to see an RE.  Don't try to remedy it yourself with soy.

This.  I've known women that took soy isoflavones and they ended up making things worse!  Please don't self medicate.

    PAIF/SAIF Welcome!

  • Ok, seems like the soy may not be the best thing. And I was hesitant so that is good to know that it may not be the best idea ;)
I will get a BBT and do the FF tutorial. Thanks everyone!
  • Welcome! Sorry about CD1. I agree with PPs, and would strongly encourage you to temp. At first it can be difficult to get into a routine, but then ir becomes second nature. Also, avoid self medicating. You never kniw what can actually cause more harm than help, even with "natural" products and vitamins. Good luck!

  • Welcome!! Good luck. I also agree with PP's on temping even though this is my first month and I'm still figuring things out.

  • Welcome and sorry about CD1!  I agree with PP's-temping is the easiest/only way to confirm actual ovulation at home.
