Sorry in advance, I know there's been a lot of birth control threads, but I haven't seen any info on this in particular. I'm wondering if anyone has experience with the nexplanon implant? I'm weighing it against mirena... Thanks!

She told me to YouTube it- it made me change my mind bc I'm so squeamish around needles. Just watching it made me dizzy and feel faint.

Gah, I read your comments and thought it couldn't be that bad. Now I wish I hadn't of watched. Maybe I will go with mirena. I was really leaning towards the nexplanon too.

I had mine put in yesterday...didnt hurt at all! I just made sure not to look at what she was doing lol.

Thanks for the reassurance. I'm not usually a wimp when it comes to needles and I always look away.

Sorry I'm late to the party Ladies, It's hard to get anywhere near the laptop. I watched all of mine go in, I've had two in each arm. I hope the youtube video answered your questions, if not I'll be happy to help

Thanks Frankie! I went ahead and made the apt. If I can get an epi I think I can handle this. IUDs freak me out more for some reason!

@frankierokx how does this affect your mood. And are your periods as sporadic as the negative reviews say? That worries me more than having it implanted does.

For me I never had any mood swings, I never got my period with it either, that's why I love it so much. Obviously it may not be the case for you though.

I got mine put in 2 weeks ago, it didn't hurt, except I had extreme itching from it heeling!
