AW: Update after visit to my (soon to be former) OB

I'm back....

My betas dropped from 95 to 75 so my body is apparently trying to take care of this on it's own. The tech was really nice and saw nothing in the uterus. I have 3 large cysts on my left ovary, one that was "suspiciously" close to the tube but looked to be more of an ovarian cyst (her words). She told me to get dressed and that my doctor would be in to see me in a few minutes. The doctor came in quickly and said, "I'm sorry but your betas are dropping". I told him that I was actually relieved because that meant my body was trying to take care of everything on it's own and that I hopefully won't need another D&C. He said that he wanted to follow me down to 0 and handed me a lab slip for Monday. He then got up to walk out of the door!!! I said, um, excuse me Dr. (insert nasty name), can we talk a little bit about what I should do from here, why this happened??.....He cut me off and said, "I'm really busy today, I'll give you a call on Monday after we get your betas back and we can go from there"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was/am furious! Clearly I will be booking my next OB appt with a new office and I already have some great recommendations.

The only saving grace is that I have a very close family friend who is an OB (he is in a different state) and I called him immediately after and he couldn't believe what happened. He's going to send my lab a proper request and take care of the results himself. He is very concerned because with betas so low you can't see much on a vag ultrasound so you need more info to rule out an ectopic. He thinks that it's very unlikely that it is one but wants to make sure I get proper care. He's going to request a work up so we can see what my progesterone looks like and some other stuff (sorry for my lack of medical terms I'm so angry I can barely type).

So, I'm back here. I am so thankful that I have found such a wonderful group of women to help me through such a shitty time. I'll be benched for at least another month or two but as long as all of my blood work comes back normal my family friend thinks I'll be able to TTC again after one cycle. And if I ever get 7 days of positive OPKs again I'll know it's not a good sign!!

@snegde My family friend told me to keep up normal activity. I need to go get a second job to pay for all of the OPKs and HPTs I've used over the past 6 months.

I'm so so sorry you are back here. Dr. Asshole is not ok. I would find wherever you need to complain about him and give them a piece of your mind. His lack of attention to this situation is negligent and scary. I'm so thankful you have a friend who can help you through this. Don't go back to Dr. Asshole, find a new OB that will take the proper anoint of tome with you.
