NBR cleaning stove top

So our board is dead anyway so instead of google or Pinterest I'll ask you amazing ladies. We have an electric stove(hate) and I might sometimes have it turned too high and have pots overflow with usually water sometimes with milk or butter anyway there are marks "burned in" to the top of the stove.. I've tried scrubbing but can't get rid of it. Anyone have any great tips besides converting to a gas stove :)

Re: NBR cleaning stove top

  • Have you tried baking soda? That's what I used to use when we had an electric stove.

  • I sprinkle baking soda on it. Get a bowl with soapy hot water. Dip a dish rag in the bowl of dish soapy water (ring out a little bit) lay on the stove for about 15 minutes. After 15 minutes scrub with the towel. Repeat as needed.

  • @kaylababy5 I tried that, I use those things for everything !
  • I actually use Weiman Glass Cook Top cleaner with a scrubby pad. It works really good. Of course baking soda would probably be more ideal, but it was in the house when we bought it and once I tried it, I refuse to use anything else. It's $4 at Wal-Mart and it lasts me a really long time.

  • I got this stuff called "affresh" with my new stove.  It also came with a scrubbie pad that is not metal.  It's been pretty awesome so far.  I'm assuming you can get it at the grocery store, and if not, I may cry.  It's been the only thing to keep the crap off the stove and keep it looking new.

  • Is it a glass top? I used to leave a wet cloth on it for an hour or two the go at it with a razor blade.
