Hi lucid!!! Hope you have been well. Just looking at your siggy shows you've been busy. FX with this cycle. I'm not sure if I'm "back" per se, but I'm here today - that's about all I can commit to. This break has been much needed.

UPDATE: Last we spoke, I was lined up for a hysteroscopy to investigate the "thickening" of my uterus and the blocked right tube. I've since canceled that procedure and switched to a new practice...LOVE! OMG, what a difference in service! Not looking back.

New RE did a 3-D u/s to try to view the "thickening" and investigate. She feels it's a fibroid in the uterine muscle and not in the cavity. With my next AF next week, I'll repeat CD3 BW & u/s and schedule a repeat SHG so she can get a definitive answer before moving forward with a hysteroscopy. What a relief!

After that issue has been resolved, she wants to start me on injectables NOT Clomid as previously suggested by my last dr. She feel that Clomid would be the best route to go b/c I'm DOR. She also recommended skipping IUI and going straight for IVF. My age & DOR being the two main reasons. Wow, holy crap! This could really happen! It's a refreshing change from the doom and gloom I've been feeling for so long!

NTTCALR: I've been working as a long-term substitute since the new year began. I'll be in this position for at least another month. This has definitely helped with my depression although it's still very much there (bitch). We've been eating better and moving more and managed to lose a few lbs!

I'm going to try to participate in this check-in again and will probably find myself intro'ing over in the IF board too. So many new, scary, unknown things lay ahead in my future. xoxo to you!

Hi @luciddreamer106 How are you doing today?  I really like the quote this week.

I am doing alright. I am focusing my energy on eating better - adding more fruit to my diet and tracking the amount of food I eat. DH and I are planning to join a local gym this weekend. We are going to check it out on Sunday. I took a drop in yoga class on Monday and really enjoyed it.

I am also planning to attend a few sessions of couples grief counseling with DH. We need to call and set it up.

I am trying to avoid losing myself like I did after my first loss.

On a happy note, I have tomorrow off from work. After my OB follow-up appt, I have a spa day scheduled, followed by acupuncture. Looking forward to a day of relaxation.

QOTW: Do you have a favorite flower? PIP for bonus points.

As cliche as they are, I love red roses because we got married on Valentine's Day.

Hi everyone! Happy *almost* Friday! Lawd, do I need it to be the end of the week. And thanks for the check-in @luciddreamer106!!

My appointment went well. HCG is back at zero and there's nothing left in my ute, as I suspected. Just waiting for AF to show at this point. M/C was a little over 3 weeks ago, and just today I started to feel some cramping and a little bewb soreness, so hoping that she gets her sweet butt here so I can get back on the saddle soon :)

@MyFirstRaspberry - Good for you for taking some R&R time for yourself. It sounds like you and DH are taking positive steps in the right direction. I recently started back at the gym after my m/c and it's really helped to clear my head. ((HUGS))

QOTW: I love peonies. If they weren't so expensive, I would have had them incorporated into my wedding.

    image

Super ((hugs)) for anyone that needs them this week. I can't believe that January is almost over!

Edited: Having some image issues. Can't get it to show up. But I tried!

Hi!!!! Welcome back to the check-in! It sounds like a lot has happened! I'm so happy that you like your new practice and hope that you can get away with not doing the hysteroscopy. Going straight to IVF... wow! That must have really been a shock for you. Good luck with the testing! FX AF doesn't keep you waiting for very long.

Also, I'm so happy for you to have that long-term substitute job. Keeping busy and feeling useful is so helpful when trying to get out of a dark place.

It sounds like you're working hard on improving your health. Good for you! I love yoga. I used to go to more classes, but now I usually just make something up or follow one of my DVD's. It's so relaxing and helps me focus to keep out all the negative thoughts that pop up. Good luck at your OB appointment tomorrow. You definitely deserve a spa day, enjoy!

Oh, good. I wonder why they aren't showing up otherwise? They're too pretty not to share :)

  • Update: My monitoring u/s went well last Friday and I was happy that DH went along with me. My lining was good (finally!), so I feel a little more optimistic this cycle. I triggered Friday night for a O date on Sunday. My RE has me break up the trigger into 3 injections over several days and I did the last two by myself! DH has done all the rest for me, but was unavailable so I had to suck it up. I give a pretty good shot, if I do say so myself. haha. I give shots all the time, but have never done one on myself before. Now, I start the prometrium suppositories 2x/day. I asked for a beta HCG to be done instead of waiting for AF, because it never came last time until I stopped the progesterone. I have it scheduled for Feb. 10, 15 dpo.

QOTW: My favorite are tulips. Since they always pop up in early spring, I associate them with warming temperatures.

  • Hi Sapphires!  Sorry I'm late checking in this week.  It's been hectic!

We got the PGD results for our three embryos and all three are chromosomally normal!  I'm so relieved.  We are still moving forward with another retreival though in February.  I'm still on BCP and I should be off them by next Wednesday.

I also had an appt with the MFM yesterday as an initial consult.  It was a little overwhelming and scary.  Due to my uterine anomaly (didelphic uterus), he said I'm going to be a very high risk pregnancy with lots of risks.  He said there is a possiblity there will be no complications as some women don't even know they have an anomaly but since they do know I have one due to some other issues, I will be monitored very closely.

  • Hi all -- sorry I'm late too! Our follow up with the RE went really well. I AW'd a post about it Wednesday but in short, we're both healthy and all our tests were normal. The RE wants me to do a closely monitored Clomid cycle, up to three if the first isn't successful. Soo now I wait for AF. I'm only CD 18 so I have like forever til it shows up :( I'm glad to have a plan, and the RE is really confident, so I'm trying to stay positive!

I'm not really a flower person -- is that crazy? I don't know a thing about them and they all sort of look the same to me ha.

@ashellypnut happy to see you back! I'm glad you love your new doctor. Straight to IVF! That's bold but I'm so glad you have a plan.

@MFR Hope you enjoy the gym! Enjoy your day off and take care of yourself <3

@angl I hope AF doesn't keep you waiting!

@LD FX for you this cycle! I'm so so nervous about the trigger shot but if you're giving them to yourself, I should just suck it up! You're so BAMF ;) There's another thread about the 2ww munchies because of the progesterone-- are you dealing with that?

@CallaLilly30 Ahh yay for your embryos! I know your MFM consult was scary but it sounds like he knows what he's doing with monitoring. FX for you.

Another congrats for all your testing coming back normal. In glad that you have a plan and fx that AF doesn't keep you waiting.

For the shot, I use a similar motion to throwing a dart so it goes in quickly. That seems to always help, along with numbing the area with ice first. And YES, I totally get the munchies in my 2ww, especially with the trigger and prometrium.

  • @luciddreamer: yes, much has happened but I'm trying to stay optimistic. New dr wants to avoid hysteroscopy if its not necessary, hence more testing ordered first. IVF?! Wha??? I know, right?! But if she feels that this is the best use of our time & $$$, then I'm on board. That is, if we can afford it! Between a fresh look at our case and the temp job, I'm slowly clawing my way up and out of this dark place. Although I snapped and got a bit ghetto on my cousin yesterday because she was being a big b!tch. This is out of character for me but my bullsh!t threshold has been very low lately, ya know?! Oh, I never answered the QOTW: Sunflowers! My first tattoo! Anyway, GL with this cycle hun esp. with having to administer the shots yourself! Yikes! Now, hurry up and wait. Smh...

@MyFirstRaspberry: Hi love. Been thinking of you too! I love that you're trying to make a healthier YOU, all around. It's not easy breaking old habits but you've got a great support system around you. GL and go easy on yourself. And, I need to book a spa day...pronto! Maybe before we jump into IVF, should that path be the one we choose.

@CallaLily30: Hey lady! Wow, great news about your embies <3 GL with Feb retrieval. It's also good to know that you'll be in good hands with lots of monitoring when you get pg again. FX for you love.

@natsfans84: Yay for the healthy news about you & YH! Hurry up...and wait. I know, it's a killer. But having a plan is a great motivator, right? I know the move to IVF seems very aggressive but that's what she felt was right, given our circumstances. Once we figure out what's up with my ute (and correct it or just dx it), then we can have a more in-depth, serious take about Plan A, B, C, etc. DH and I discussed poss doing one cycle again on our own with TI. One step at a time...
