due to insurance reasons, I now have to pay for a 3d/4d out of pocket. This is fine, but I was honestly expecting it through my doctor.

Now DH and I have to travel far to get a simple answer...

"Does the baby have 3 "legs" or two "mouths"?!?!

I am in the same insurance boat (Tricare Big Smile

) I am traveling 2 hours to a little town for a 3D ultrasound. The only good thing is that it will only cost me $50 and if I want a cd $2 extra... I go on Monday, I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Its because of insurance.

Thank God the baby is healthy, and so there is no need for further U/S for medical reasons.

This doesn't mean a girl can't feel a little disappointment, ya know?

DNK, the last ultrasound was wayyy to early to tell. It was the NT scan at 11w.

Even with healthy babies, there is a valid need for a 20 week ultrasound. Did your doctor's office attempt to get them to approve it? Not meant to scare anyone but, things do change from week 11 to week 20. I would challenge it and push for the anatomy scan.

Even if it is tricare we do get a 20 week u/s and they certainly told me what we were having, I am sorry what a crappy thing to not find out when you were expecting too...

That blows. My OB does and U/S at every appointment but just doesnt file it..... I wish more OB's did this for peace of mind and in your case so that you don thave to go out of your way to find out the sex... so silly.
