A couple questions for those expecting

1)  what are you doing about the crib situation?  You ladies getting another crib.   I really wanted to avoid, but I don't think that is going to be possible.

2)  Are you guys feeling any different this time around?   I am WAY more sick this time and for longer (almost 16 weeks and still have "morning" sickness.  Just curious how you guys are feeling this time compared to last.

Re: A couple questions for those expecting

  • 1. We are going to get another convertible crib. We decided that LO1 needs to be in his crib a little longer. I found the first crib at Burlington Coat Factory: Baby Depot for $300 something and I had a 20% off coupon from a baby magazine. I ended up spending like $270 on a convertible crib. Couldn't pass it up.

    2. I have been feeling just a little bit different. Not much. There are new things that didn't happen the last time (bleeding after DTD and diarrhea ALL THE TIME) and some that are the same from last time (breakouts in the same spots). I am far more tired this time.

  • We are undecided about the crib. DH wants to get V a car bed and move him into it this summer, around 18 months. I'm thinking he's not ready yet. But...considering how much he HATES his crib these days and screams for hours, I'm contemplating it.

V's crib is convertible, so I think it is silly to do the car bed thing, but DH says then we can keep crib for this LO. My feeling is, if it is a boy, then I will want to get a matching crib as the boys would likely share a room, so matching beds would be nice. If it's a girl, I am leaning toward the car bed and passing this crib onto LO.

    Too much to think about!

As far as how I'm feeling...I can't believe how different this pregnancy is! I was hardly sick at all with V. This time, the nausea (I cant call it morning sickness bc it is ALL DAY LONG) started at like 5.5 weeks and hasn't quit yet. However, I am not nearly as tired (maybe bc newborn-15 month old sleepless night tired is far worse than pregnancy tired??)as the first time and my boobs don't hurt at all. The first time just a t-shirt rubbing against them made me want to cry.

I am actually hearing from a lot of STM that the symptoms were different the 2nd time. Who knows! Crazy hormones!

  • 1.  We're planning on getting another crib.  DH's is a convertible as well and we're planning to get a similar one.  We're waiting to order it until the baby is born.  We don't know the gender and I have a "girl" crib and a "boy" crib all picked out.

    2.  I struggled a lot early in the pregnancy.  DD wasn't sleeping the greatest.  A lot of that had to do with me going back to work (teaching) at the precise time I found out I was pregnant.  DD didn't like me going back to work.  Anyway, I felt exhausted for the first trimester  and a little into the second.  Now that I'm starting the third trimester, I know I'll start entering the exhausted category again soon.  It's definitely more difficult being pregnant while having a toddler.  Also, I'm way way way more emotional this time around.

  • I actually already HAVE a second crib. My sister brought it to loan to the ILs, who decided as we were delivering it, that they didn't want it.
    Instead, MIL bought a playpen.

Sooooo, I still have the crib.
But...I'm hoping that DS will move to a bed around 18 months, then I can just put new LO in the crib.
I only plan to keep LO in my room for up to 8 weeks. That will make DS almost 18 months.
DD moved to a bed at 18 months just fine.

I'm feeling fine mostly. Baby is breech, which is a little uncomfortable, but aside from not being able to bend, a lot of the time I don't even feel pregnant (and sometimes I forget). Lol.
  • 1) We got a second crib, dresser, and changing table. H is really easy to change on his changing table plus it has shelves that he has books and toys on.

    2) I was exhausted 1st tri but nothing unbearable. Now, I'm just really sore and achy all the time and am having a hard time sleeping.

  • 1. We got a 2nd crib for baby #2. It's another Davinci convertible crib that was so cheap on slickdeals a few months ago. DD is doing well in her crib so we'll keep her in it as long as we can.

    2. Pregnancy #2 feels the same, which is why I thought I was having another girl. No morning sickness again but I'm just way more tired. I never got to experience the woes of the 3rd trimester with DD, but I definitely feel it now at 36 weeks. I want to be done already. My back aches, feet swell, allergies suck, constantly peeing, and can't sleep at night. DD was so nice to me coming early at 32 weeks. And baby #2 is sunny side up, so I'm not looking forward to a long painful back labor.
  • In regards to the OP:

    1) We will not be getting another crib. We will leave Logan in his crib for now and when el "segundo" is ready we will move him upstairs in his own bed or PNP. Then When LJ is 2 he will get a toddler bed and we will swap them out.

    2) I feel way shittier this time around. But I am also on Progesterone injections to avoid early labor. I think this pregnancy is different all ways around. More anxiety, more doubts, sleeplessness and movement from baby.

    what @zmoss said - you can't be serious....right??
    What they said.  FFS.

Also, H was "sunny side up" and the OB was able to turn him pretty late in the delivery process.  I didn't have painful back labor, but I did have painful front labor.  Either way, you can probably count on it to be painful at some point.

Anyway, I'm not KU.  Sorry to threadjack.
