@pepperedmoth - what are you doing now to flip the baby? My little boy just flipped breech last week, so I haven't looked into it a whole bunch. My OB said we would talk about it more in the next couple of weeks and if he doesn't flip back to discuss a version. I read the spinning babies site, but it's a bit confusing. I have also read about applying hot or cold packs? (Which funny enough is why I think he flipped up. I noticed him do it in the bathtub the other night when I was lying on my side in the hot water.)
Re: @Pepperedmoth (& other breech mamas)
I haven't tried anything yet because I figure I'm having a c-section so it doesn't really matter, but I'm curious to see the responses. In the last week or so, he's pushing his head really hard against my stomach so that I can always see his head shape on the outside of my belly. It hurts, and I'm really bruised. Plus I could do without the constant crotch kicks.
I'm a little nervous to try to move him because I've read that sometimes breech babies are breech for a reason... like the cord is around their neck and it won't let them turn. So paranoid-me thinks I should just deal with the pain.
Wow, that's very similar to how my LO is, too. The bottom of his head is even with my belly button, and I can physically put my hands around his whole head. My husband thinks it's super cool, but it's freaking me out. He must stretch out sometimes, though, because I do get kicks in the crotch. But maybe those are arm movements?
I got excited because last night I woke up to feeling hiccups really low, so I thought maybe he turned, but when I got up this morning his head was still in the same place.
In between appointments, if I'm feeling anxious, I do perform the forward inversion from the spinning babies website (they say it's good for all mamas, breech or not) because it feels sooooo nice on my tired belly.
Yeah, @babycaps is breech right now, I think.
I'm hesitant to try anything after reading pp's though in light of the cord issues. The cord was clearly around her neck at my 32 week scan 2 weeks ago.
Me: 28 DH: 27
Maybe they can? They've never pointed the cord out to me before during an u/s, and I've never asked about it. I have another one in a few weeks, so I might ask then if baby's still breech.
I wasn't sure, but suspected.
I've had 3 U/Ss in the last few weeks. Breech for ever one of them.
Both of my other kids were head down and I knew it.
This one squirms a lot, so I wasn't getting 'kicks' just movement. That's why I suspected breech.
OB will not worry until 37-38 weeks since she wants to induce at 39 due to my age.
I will try spinning babies if LO is still breech at my next BPP.
