We got invited to a Superbowl party, and I don't like football. But there should be snacks, right? So do I want to go for the snacks? I don't know these people very well (running buddy and coworker of hewhoshallnotbecalledMister).
I don't know where you're from but around here we do Superbowl parties big. Football isn't my thing either but well worth making an appearance for the food!
I would go for snacks! I was going to make some snacks whether we got invited out or not; I'm glad that we did get invited somewhere so I can make even moreeee!
I'm going to a party for the food! The party is at a coworker of DH's who I have met only once. Not too excited about the people, but super pumped for the snacks!!
There is no better food than Superbowl party food. Well, maybe high end bar food, and chicken parm, they're pretty damn good too.

The food, and the commercials (usually the only things I'm interested in at a superbowl party)!
On a related note, how annoying is it that the winners of the superbowl are called "World Champions"? They are NOT world champions. They are NFL champions. For some reason that distinction drives me irrationally crazy.
We don't watch the game usually, but we do partake in special snacks that day, and I flip the game on when there is a commercial or if halftime looks good.
I'd go, superbowl parties are great: food, funny commercials, and overall fun. However, if you're not close that's tough. I want to be able to kick back relax and stuff my face. If I won't feel comfortable doing that and have to small talk too much, ehh I may skip.
Re: First World Problem
He likes snacks. He doesn't care about football. He will usually turn on the Superbowl and play on his iPad, but that's about it.
