Really, I want to know your experiences with essure, IUDs and/or nexplanon.
I am going for my 6 week pp appt today and need to decide on birth control. DH was going to get a vasectomy, but since we have an HSA, we would have to pay out of pocket. Birth control options are free for me, though.
I'm leaning towards nexplanon because I am really scared of the pain to get an IUD inserted (I'm a big baby). But, I need more input. So, tell me about what you use for
long-term or permanent bc.
Re: Tell me about your birth control
I have a friend or two that have done essure & are pleased.

Before that, we used condoms.
We use condoms for now and so far haven't had any surprises. Although I don't think either of us would mind

For example, you need to be solely BF (no bottles at all) and no pacifier use. You need to take a nap with baby every day. I forget the other guidelines. If you follow them all, you have a good shot of being annovulatory until 6 months pp. After that, all bets are off.

That won't happen to us. We practice abstinence until ovulation is confirmed by temp shift.

I've never heard the thing about taking a nap with the baby. All I've heard is its effective for the first six months if you are exclusively breast feeding with no artificial nipples and not going longer than 6 hours at night without feeding.
