Trying to Get Pregnant

another newbie!

Hi All,

So I've posted on here a couple times, but never truly introduced myself, but have also been lurking for the past month or so, so figured it was time.  I'm a little nervous as I've seen some attacks on here, but I've read the newbie blog and promise to follow the rules :)  The times I have posted people have been very helpful and kind.

So a little about myself...I'm almost 34 and my DH is 32.  He's in IT sales and I'm in Human Resources. We got married in August 2013 and I went off BC in May 2013.  Ended up getting pregnant a couple weeks before the wedding (didn't realize it because I started bleeding and kept bleeding for the month of August) and when we came back from our honeymoon, I went to the doctor and after several weeks of testing found out it was ectopic so ended up getting the MX shot and just started by first period since then in December (went on progestrone), and tried the month of Dec/January and today I got my period. I have 37ish day cycles and don't ovaluate until around day 24 so it's a pretty long wait. I was wondering how many other people here had that long cycle/wait to commeserate with :)

I look forward to joining ya'll on the journey!

  • Welcome! Sorry for your loss.

    I have longer (35+days) cycles as well. It definitely seems to drag on at times! As PP suggested, WTO and 2WW are great threads to become active in to help make time pass more quickly.

  • Welcome!  I'm a newbie to this board too, and will post my intro in the next couple days when I have time!!  Just wanted to say... I've got long cycles too, but that's because I have PCOS.  We're talking like 2-3 months... to as long as 9 months!!  A healthier low gi diet with lots of veggies/fruit has helped with that :)  Good Luck!!

  • Welcome! My cycles are about the same length as yours...I ovulate anywhere from day 18-22 and have about a 12 days luteal phase.
    Ours aren't really terribly long cycles if you look at some of the other people who wait months to O.
  • Im sorry to hear of your loss.

    welcome and good luck, and hopefully your stay is short and sweet.

  • Thanks everyone for the warm welcome!

    @josh+rebecca11 - I agree I shouldn't be complaining when people go months waiting to O :(

    @Josie400 - Just started temping last month so on month 2 :)
