I had the Quad Screen my last pregnancy when I was 29 and will do it again this pregnancy at 31. It is just a blood test around 15 weeks and looks at several substances in your blood and gives you a 1 in ____ chance that your baby may have Trisomy 18, Spina Bifida, or Down Syndrome but it does not give you a definite answer either way.
I'm doing the Sequential on Feb 24. Mine comes with a chat with a genetic counselor, an u/s, and (I'm pretty darn sure) a blood test. We just want to know our risks and if we should be prepping for any medical issues. Currently, neither DH nor I have any family or personal history to make us think this screen will come back positive. We are considered low risk for sure.
