Target email

Anyone else get an email from Target with the subject "this email address is changing"? I don't want to open it since the security breach. It just looks different from the other ones they sent. I also went to their website and it isn't listed (yet) as one of the ones they have recently sent out....

Anyone take them up on their identity theft monitoring offer?

I'm seriously considering it :/

Re: Target email

  • I got the email but I ignored it thinking it was junk. I'm thinking of signing up for the credit protection but haven't done do yet

  • I didn't get that email, but I'm taking advantage of the free identity protection.

  • Thank you ladies! @nikel13 how did you begin the monitoring? Through their website? Can you do it in store?
  • I got an email offering the free protection, but I clicked the link to sign up through the website because I'm paranoid. I had to enter my email address and some other info, and they sent me a code a few hours later via email to sign up for the free protection, as well as the direct Experian link.

Did you need to give any sort of credit card info?? I know its free for a year but a lot of times those auto renew unless you cancel

Our local new station had a report on this last week. It said this was a scam taking advantage of people again and the only way to sign up for it was through their website. The email sent was from a bogus "Target" email also part of the hack.
