It's going down.....

In the words of Ke$ha....I'm yellin timber! Anyone else getting the pleasure of feeling lightheaded, like you're about to go down? Frequently? This is the 2nd time since Monday. It's anything but pleasant. I am lucky enough to work at the hospital and bump into my OBGYN from time to time. He said it was completely normal, which made me feel much better but still just annoying.

Re: It's going down.....

  • Occasionally but I think it's because I've had a cold and am pretty dehydrated for the past two or three weeks.

  • Yes, Monday I woke up so hungry that I almost passed out while making breakfast. I guess I will not be skipping eating a snack right before bed again!

  • Pretty much every time I get out of bed. I have to make sure to get up slowly.
  • Yes I have gotten this a couple of times. I thought maybe because I was dehydrated, low sugar, hungry.  Thank goodness its not just me :))

  • Twice this pregnancy. I'm thinking mine is more like vertigo than passing out.

  • It happened a couple times last week. Once when I woke up and got out of bed too quick, I got so dizzy I had to plunk down in the hallway and collect myself. Yuck, I hate it!

  • Yes! Called my ob about this Monday, as I was going on my third day of feeling lightheaded/woozy/weak. She said to snack more often and to keep candy at my desk to help with blood sugar. She said more than anything to make sure I drink a ton of water.

  • I haven't had much of a problem with it this time, but last time around the end of the second tri I had a problem with frequently feeling lightheaded.

  • I have low blood pressure normally, and 2nd trimester in particular of last pregnancy made it even lower.  I full-on passed out 5 times throughout those 14 weeks, and had a lot of close calls.  For me, standing mostly still was always what triggered it.

  • That's crazy I just posted about this last week! I've had this issue as well. The DR diagnosed vertigo but I have a follow up with my OB and primary care. Apparently it's pretty common!

  • My ob said its bp related. I usually run low anyway. Apparently my blood volume hasnt doubled yet, so little buddy gets more and I get whats left....which equals low bp and feeling lightheaded for a few. I know its normal, but what a pain in the ass! I am an RN and I swear I must have slept thru the entire semester of OB because I dont remember learning about any of this from nursing school lol.
  • It happens to me too. I haven't fainted but I'm light headed all the time and get dizzy. I've read that it's a common symptom during pregnancy that you can experience some dizziness/vertigo. If you are fainting then it's probably something more to it like your BP. You might need to take it more slowly when standing up, etc.

  • I've had issues as well, and talked to my midwife about it. She suggested (as other pp have) to eat more frequently and drink tons of water. It seems to be helping a lot!

  • I have strated getting lightheaded now that 2nd tri has hit (did throughout 2nd and 3rd tri last pregnancy too).  For me if I get up too fast, sit down too fast, turn quickly or bend over I get a bit woozy.  It sucks, but like most pregnancy symptoms this too shall pass (like in about 6 months!).
