  • Sleepy time tea! Or talk to your Dr about something they can give you to help.

  • I take Benadryl, which my doctor is okay with.  Granted, I had to use it every night before I ever got pregnant in order to sleep.  Ironically, now that I'm pregnant I generally go to sleep faster and sleep deeper (and would probably get a lot of sleep if I didn't have to wake up to pee.)

Do you do anything to unwind before sleep?  I know it's not recommended, but I generally play a really quick game on my ipad to destress, then turn it off and read in my book for about 30 minutes.  If I don't read, I tend to have a much harder time going to sleep because it helps take my mind off anything I've been worrying about.

My husband on the other hand...can lay down and fall asleep within minutes.  Anywhere.  Anytime.  I'm so jealous of that ability...

  • I've tried lavender lotion, lavender scentsy's in the scentsy pot, hot bath, hot tea.... And I think that's it.
I don't get up to pee, I'm sleep with a body pillow, I'm not uncomfortable.. I just can't shut my brain off and go to sleep.

  • I have had such a hard time sleeping too! Here are a few tips that I found that worked for me these past few weeks. Hopefully they can work for you too!

-Benadryl on those nights you just go to bed wide awake and have at least 8 hours to sleep.
-Invest in a "U" or "J" shaped maternity pillow. Or have a pillow on each side of your body, 1 for back support and the other for belly support. Then another pillow for in between your legs.
-Don't drink anything 3-6 hrs before bedtime.
-Leave all the electronics off at bedtime. Read a book instead.
-Turn on a fan for white noise and extra cooling.
  • Lay down, Close eyes. Roll over. :)

Haha, okay, make the house cold (we set ours to 66 at night/71 day) an hour or so before you go to bed. It helps us to sleep better, and for me, I fall asleep faster because I get chilly before bed, so climbing in to a warm bed just knocks me out.

  • i found it easier to sleep with my knees propped up at an angel since i normally sleep on my right or left side.. its much more comfortable on my right side thought .. im not sure why .. i have always had a hard time sleeping so now i just see during this pregnancy i need to invest in some Benadryl and a maternity pillow.. i normally use a body pillow to prop my knees and well as support on my side.. not sure whats going on with my account it wont let me post
  • Unisom and I have been good friends this pregnancy.

  • I've been having lots of hip/pelvis pain, or possibly sciatic pain (not sure yet, seeing physio soon), so I have been trying to establish a routine, because lately it have been dreading going to bed, because the pain often wakes me up at night. I have been drawing a warm bath (it's killing me not to make it hotter!) with a few drops of lavender essential oil, and soaking for about 20 minutes or so with a good book. Last night I followed that up with a 10 minute yoga routine and I slept pretty well.

  • My snoogle and unisom (technically for my m/s but helps me sleep too).  I also try to stop drinking fluids an hour or two before bed so I don't wake up to pee and keep a humidifier running for the white noise and it helps with my sinus congestion.

  • A nice bubble bath and spooning my body pillow is the only thing that gets me to sleep anymore.

  • I sleep with a boppy body pillow as well as keep another between my legs but I have been waking up with pains around my hips/pelvis/thigh, depending on which side I am sleeping on. I usually do a quick yoga video before bed and this has helped with leg cramps but not pelvic pain. Any tips?
