Bailey or Brielle?

My 2 year old Daughters name is Brinley I was thinking I like Bailey and Brielle to go as a cute sibset name if it's a girl, we are only 6 weeks... WDYT?? I want honest opinions lol. We also love the middle name Avery... Brielle Avery Burns sounds good but not so much Bailey Avery right?? So tell me... Brielle or Bailey if you had to choose and if you absolutely hate it then other suggestions??

Re: Bailey or Brielle?

  • Well if you want honest...Bailey and Brielle are both terrible. I also can't stand when sibling start with the same letter. So other non-matchy name suggestions to go with Brinley:
    Gabrielle
    Harper
    Ayla
    Macy
    Ella
    Savannah

  • I don't like the idea of both names beginning with Br and/or ending with ly.

I don't like either of these names much, but you are right that Bailey Avery (so masculine, by the way!) doesn't have good flow. Brielle Avery does flow nicely though.

  • Yeah ditto PPs. Neither name is great, IMO and they are really far too similar with your DD's.

    What about
    Brooke
    Bridget
    Lydia
    Carys
    Cecelia

  • Yikes... Not a fan. Both starting with Br and ending in a y just is not cute... It sounds ridiculous. I like some of the PP suggestions a lot!

  • Mud?

If not, I like bailey but not with brinley. Way too matchy. What about Maya, Ava, Kate, Grace?

  • Though I'm not really a fan of either name, I guess my vote would go to Brielle.

I agree with pps that it's a little too matchy with your DDs name.

    What about Gabrielle, nn Brielle?

    Other suggestions:

    Brooke
    Piper
    Isabelle
    Bridget
    Hailey

  • Definitely not Bailey since you have a Brinley and I don't like Brielle at all. PP gave you a lot of great suggestions.

  • I don't care for Brielle at all, especially not with a sibling Brinley.  But I'm not crazy about Bailey & Brinley either.  So... sorry, not much help.

  • Hmmm, both are pretty matchy matchy.

Brinley and Cora, Brinley and Ava, Brinley and Harper

I think avoiding anything with the -ey ending is a good place to start!

  • Wow I wasn't prepared for all the "negative" posts lol. I appreciate the honesty though although I'm a lil sad there wasn't one positive thing. Hmm... I'm really beginning to change my mind. Ugh now I need lots of ideas!! What about Avery as a first name? Does it go well with Brinley?
  • To me Bailey is either a dog name or a type of liquor. Brielle is okay but far too matchy with Brinley. What about Harper or Piper? Those both sound good with Avery I think.

  • OP just know that people are more hung up on how way to similar your choices are to your DDs name, more so than the names on their own. If you try to do the mom playground yell of Brinley, Brielle you may see it will sound awkward. I agree that I think Avery is very masculine and like it better in the MN spot. I like PP suggestions of Harper, Piper, Violet and Stella

Personally I only like Avery for a boy so I prefer it in the mn spot.

Do you have any other names you love or that are on your list?

Really not trying to be hurtful so thank you for taking our honesty so well.
Awe no!! Thank you for saying that though. Made me smile but I really do appreciate the honesty and at least your very polite about it. Well I like the newer type names I guess you'd say like Brinley, Avery, Harper, Harlow... just those types. Not really sure how to categorize them or heck maybe I'm completely off and they're nothing alike lol but do you have any other suggestions like those? Also kinda like Sophia? What's your thoughts there?
  • I think Brinley and Sophia would be a cute sibset!

  • I don't like either......Brielle is aweful IMO. My cousin has named her daughters, Brin.ley, Bro.oklyn and Bry.cen....the parents are Bra.dy and Beth.any.......yikes! When do you stop? Everybody has Br (except mom) and a Y somewhere in their name. Clever? .....not my style at all. Makes me wonder if they like the name Brycen for their daughter, or just settled for one that fits the game with names. I am finished now.
  • I would like to suggest Bethany
  • Brinley and Sophia is a cute sibset. I like Sophia Avery. I also don't mind Avery as a fn.

Sophia is lovely! A little popular for me, but so pretty. Love Sylvie/ Sylvia even more. Harper is also very cute.

Suggestions: Marlowe/Marlo, Hadley, Pippa, Eden, Sadie, Piper, Shelby, Eva, Giselle, Veronica, Olive, Maren, Willa, Madeline

Sorry, quite an interesting mix there, haha!
Hadley is super cute!! I plan to post later about boys names in mind and I'd love to hear yours and everyone else's opinions on those. So tell me... do you think Brinley is masculine? The more I think of Sophia the more I like it but don't know how that sounds with Avery as mn. Also like Hadley :)
  • Yeah I dont really like Hadley Avery either Hadley Sophia is very cute!!
  • What about...

'Scuse you, it's a dog name too! My dog's name is Bailey and I have met a LOT of dog Baileys, especially beagles for some reason. So, might want to keep that in mind, OP.
