Abdominal Pressure

Hello ladies, I just have a bit of a partial TMI Tuesday question.

I'm 17 weeks and 4 days and for the past two days I've been experiencing some slight (almost pushing-like) pressure on my new bump area. It's not gas, and it comes and goes. It doesn't feel like my usual round ligament pain these days.

I'm sure I'm okay, but I wanted to see if any if you have any experience with this pressure pain.

Thank you in advance :)

  • It's possible it could be the baby moving around in there. It's not unheard of to feel movement at 17 weeks.

I kind of second this. Nowadays the first sign I have to poop is that I feel all weird/pressure in my abdomen/uterus area.

  • I'm gonna third the poop theory. I've been feeling the same thing.

  • Could it be early Braxton-Hicks?
  • This morning I felt a weird pressure and less than 2hrs later I took a glorious poop. Try some hot decaf coffee. Could do the trick ;)

  • I have been feeling it as well, but it's really low. Like in my crotch! Making it hard to walk.

I have had pressure like feeling pushing from the inside out my friend who has had 3 kids told me it's pretty normal to feel streching like pressure around 17 weeks cause you inside are moving and making room for baby. Going to see my doc for a check up on Wednesday but I dont have sporting or cramps just discomfort so I am not worried.
  • Could it be early Braxton-Hicks?
My OB told me that there's no such thing as braxton hicks before 20 weeks. I had a similar question about my pelvic pressure/contractions.

  • I've been feeling similar pressure...I always associate it with having gas/to poop so I never worry! Maybe just ask your doc when you see him/her this week!

  • I've heard you get braxton hicks really early on but most don't feel them until about 20 weeks. I've felt tightening with my first pretty early on... Like really early. It continued throughout pregnancy, and it only occurred to me later on that they were BH. With this one, I feel them every day. It might be related to having to poop - I know I get them more when I have to pee :)
  • I have been feeling this quite often as well!! I just figure it's the uterus growing and stretching. Could possibly be the baby but I'm not too sure.
  • Our intestines are being shoved all over the place, into new places to make room for these babies. My bet is poop or gas, and it just feels different because your intestines are configured differently.

  • I feel something similar at 14 weeks, usually a sign that I have to poop.

  • Lol you all are too funny. Thank you for the laughs and the suggestions.

The pressure is not there anymore, but has been replaced with cramp like twinges from one side to the other, which happens after I use the loo. To be honest I have no idea or clue what Braxton Hicks feel like, so I'm not sure if I can rule that out or not.

To poop or not to poop that is the question...ultimately.

I meet with my OB tomorrow so I'll see what he says.
