Baby bank account

Have you opened a bank account for your baby? If so, where? And what type of ID did you need to open it?

We haven't opened a savings account for her yet, but we have a whole life plan that comes up when she's 18, and a 529 plan.

I opened a savings account for Lily with Bank of America. I did it online and I think I had to have her SSN and my ID. It's a custodial account, so I have the control. I could add H onto the account, but we have to go to the bank to do that and haven't had the chance yet. I put $25 a month into it and all of her Christmas money went into it.

I don't know if anyone is interested but my bank is offering a promo for kids accounts. It's a free account and they get $5 for opening a savings accounts. We have branches in North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Maryland, West Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Indiana, Texas, Washington, D.C.
