Prep foods over the weekend.
If you have a little extra time (or help!) on the weekend, that’s the perfect time to cook a big batch of certain foods to then have on hand during the week. “At the beginning of the week, cook a whole box of whole wheat pasta and keep it in a freezer bag in the refrigerator so it’s ready whenever you’re hungry,” says Kimberly Altman, RD, of Pritikin Longevity Center + Spa in Miami. Just reheat with veggies and low-sodium tomato sauce and you’ve got an instant meal. You can do this with brown rice and baked sweet potatoes or regular potatoes, too.
What meals or snacks did you prep for this week?
