Expecting #2!

Found out this week that I am pregnant again! We had planned to start trying in April when LO turned 1, so I had stopped taking the pill last month. It took 18 months and some fertility treatments to get pregnant the first time, so I was totally not expecting it to be so quick this time. Took us totally by surprise.

I'm over the moon happy, but am having some stress over adding to our family so soon. The best way I can describe it is a feeling of betraying or abandoning my very close relationship with my LO. Hard to explain, but I can't imagine I'm unique in feeling this way? Anyone else go/going through this?

    I'm not expecting, but felt that way when I got pregnant with my second, particularly at the end of my pregnancy.  What I had to keep telling myself is that my brother is the best gift my parents ever gave me and I want to give that same gift to DD.  The beginning is hard because newborns need so much and it's not like they provide a lot of entertainment for the older child.  But as the baby gets older it's so much fun.  DS is 13 months and just started walking.  Last night he was toddling over to DD, hugging her legs and they would 'walk' like that together, then DD would run away he would toddle after her and hug her legs again and they just kept laughing and laughing.  Knowing that they are friends and will always have each other is the best feeling in the world.

    Awwww that is so sweet! Thank you for sharing - that made me feel so much better to imagine moments like that that we have to look forward to!
