Silly Federal Tax Question

DH have always filed taxes jointly. I am just curious, can we file separately now that have filed jointly?

    I don't think they can force you to file one way or another but according to my CPA there would need to be a compelling reason to begin filing separately, like if you're separated or if there is some huge liability coming down the pipeline you need protection from, and even then it is not promised protection. Hopefully none of those instances apply to you. HUgs!
