Just curious, notice difference in baby movement with different sex?

My dd was a kung fu fighter in the womb. This baby just rolls and pushes, not much of a kicker. Talked to a couple of people (my mom included) and they said their girls were kickers, while the boys pushed and rolled. So just curious, did you notice any difference in movement with different sex of baby?

  • I'm not much help with comparisons as this is boy #3 but I can say that with all of them, they have  pushed/rolled much more than kick.  I mean they kicked but nothing compared to the rolling across my belly and pushing out in weird places.

  • I've had 2 girls and a boy and expecting another boy and I can't tell the difference just by the kicks.
  • I'm feeling kicks earlier with this one. Some hurt already lol. I don't think my son moved this much this early. When I was 7 months, I do remember him rolling around a lot. He kicked sometimes, but rolled and stretched more. My husband would feel my stomach as I slept and said it felt like he was doing gymnastics in there lol. I find out Monday what gender the baby is so I'll be able to tell you then.
  • My daughter was a lot more active than my son, but I think that was due to temperament more than sex. She is a much more spirited, dramatic child. My son is much more chill and easy-going.

DS was a kicker, roller, mover!  DD I didn't feel her near as much.  But like @iris427 said, I think it has more to do with temperament than sex.  DS is and has been my little monkey and running around a lot, while DD runs (trying to keep up) she way sooner picks up a book and sits and looks at it.

  • Another FTM with a little girl who is incredibly active. DH could feel her outside of my belly around 19 weeks, and I can feel her all the time now.

  • FTM here, but our little guy moves around a lot due to the time of day and It seems to happen more so when I am sitting-not laying down which is odd and it depends on what I have eaten or what I drink. I will say that he is pretty quiet most of the time, but when we did our u/s he was deffinately moving around a lot when pressure was put on him.

  • Pretty sure what you feel is based more on your baby's position than genitals. I feel no kicks, just other stuff, and she's always feet down low. I don't think her vag is causing a specific pattern of movements.

Really? I thought for sure what I was feeling was a penis knocking around in there.....

  • This baby kicks and rolls all the time (he's a boy), but he does move around much differently than my girls did. He's more chill, and they were much more active.

  • My two DD's were rollers AND kickers...this one (a boy) is mainly a kicker...who gets the hiccups a LOT!  Like, even right at this moment.  Cracks me up!
  • OMG yes. Exactly how you said it.

DD kicked non-stop. It was ridiculous.

This time we're expecting a boy (YAY) and its been all rolling and pushing and what feels like burrowing (lmao).

    I'd so prefer the kicking.

  • Same exact here. Daughter kicked like crazy. Son was a roller. My belly looked like waves.

It's probably more related to the positioning of the baby and their temperament. Lol

DS was a kicker, roller and all of the above. If DH put his hand on my stomach DS would kick it frequently. Which makes sense since he has always been a very active boy. And still gives his dad all kinds of heck. :)

DS #1 born January 2010. DS #2 due June 2014.

  • It's true for me! Having a little girl and she is a kicker!! More than her big brother!
  • False for me.

I am having a girl and it is nothing but a rolling sensation for me.
  • False for me. Just like everyone said its temperament and every baby is different. My daughter DD1 wasnt a kicker. DS kicked then eventually just rolled. This one is a kicker.

  • Well seems my family trend of girls being kickers, and boys being rollers, is going to be continued. Found out having a boy! Yes....I'm being a special snowflake :)

  • With my son, every week during our ultrasounds it was a fight to get him to hold still. This baby, a girl (obvi) is waaaaaaay calmer!
