Trying to Get Pregnant

Intro with a question. Loss mentioned

Hi. I've been on TB off and on, and this is my first time posting in TTGP. I was in a BMB group (July 2014) where a lot of TTGP'ers were, and they were ALL amazing, and I appreciated them so much. So all that said, I hope this is the appropriate place for my question. I recently had my 5th mc in 8months. I was 10 weeks when I found out the baby stopped growing at 7weeks, and finally had a natural mc at almost 11 weeks. I am 27 days from when I first started bleeding. Yesterday I noticed some bleeding, bright red, normal "gonna have your period" blood. Not enough to even reach a pad though, and today it's vanished. This is NOT an am I KTFU. I'm asking if this type of spotting/bleeding is normal? All of my other losses were 6 weeks or less, and period went back to normal, so this is new territory for me. TIA ladies, and because I know how much y'all love the gifs...

Re: Intro with a question. Loss mentioned

  • I'm so, so sorry for your losses. I don't have a real answer other than it was exactly 28 days after my m/c that I started my period. It could be that you will be starting your period soon and your body is just getting into the full "flow" slowly. Good luck!

  • I am so sorry for your losses. I lost ID twins at 20 weeks and had a D&E. The first cycle back was really weird and I had a couple rounds of spotting that lasted for a day or two. As I understand from my doctor the later the loss the longer your body takes to go get back to normal.

  • Welcome and I am so sorry to hear about your losses. I had a natural MC at 12 weeks and it took about 6 months to get back to a <40 day cycle. I think I had my first period about 8 weeks post MC and then my next one about 70 days later. My cycles are still a bit longer than they were pre-MC.

  • I'm sorry for your losses. Your cycle after a m/c can be really off. In my experience my cycle after my later m/c was way different than my cycle after my c/p. It could be random, mid cycle bleeding, it could be your period is on the way soon.

  • I'm sorry for you losses.  If haven't already, I'd check out the TTCAL board.  Even if you're not ready to TTC again, the ladies there have also been through a loss.  I had a natural miscarriage at about 12 weeks.  It took almost 7 weeks for my period to return.  But, everyone's experience can vary.  Bleeding throughout that first cycle is pretty common.

Have you thought about RPL (repeat loss) testing?  With so many losses, especially within a short time frame, it would be something I would be considering.

  • I'm sorry for your loss.

My MC at 14 weeks when I was in my 20's took me months to get back to normal but I had developed a cyst. My last 2 @ 10 1/2 weeks, 8 1/2 weeks, I ovulated a few days later than my normal. My cp I just went straight to normal. I had a d&c for all my later Mc's. I think it just depends but I hope you get back to normal soon and Welcome.
    Fucking bump!!!!

  • I'm so sorry for your loss, but welcome to the board. It's very normal to bleed off and on throughout your first cycle after a loss, and to have wonky cycles for a while after that. I also second checking out TTCAL, those ladies will really understand what you're goi g through, and may be able to give more specific answers.

  • Thank you ladies. I had been in TTCAL for a bit after my first couple losses, but I never felt like I connected very well with them. I'm not sure why, because they are a great group of ladies. I'm spotting again today, so I think I'll just chalk it up to a wonky period. I'm glad to hear it's normal though. I appreciate your help ladies!

  • I am very sorry to hear about your losses...

Trying to have baby #1 since April 2013

DH SA March,May 2014 - Low motility and shape issues. On vitamins per RE to help

Me testing April 3, 2014 - FSH and LH good, HSG showed blocked right tube

April 29, 2014 - First RE appt., right tube needs to be removed and possibly left also if

it's bad too. RE suggests going straight to IVF

June 4, 2014 - LAP/HSC and unexpected endo. removed but tubes got to stay!

June 13, 2014 - Post-Op appointment. We decide where to go next since main issue

is MFI influenced. Trying naturally until decision... Repeat SA  in September. Aiming for IUI #1 November 2014.
