Good morning, nursing mamas!
BFing tip/fact of the week:
A "galactagogue" is a food, herb or drug that promotes or increases a mother's milk supply. Here is a list of common galactagogues. Some of these are surprising!

1. How old is LO?
2. Have you begun ovulating pp? What are you doing this cycle?
3. Cycle/Month
4. How do you feel about this cycle?
5. Questions/ Concerns/ Joys/ Rants/ Stories about breastfeeding this week:
GTKY: Do you and LO have a special word for nursing? If LO is still too little to have a "code word", have you thought about what you might have him/her call nursing when the time comes?
Re: @@@@ TTC While Breastfeeding Check-in @@@@
I just came in to say I guess I am out of this check-in because DD has self-weaned! I cannot believe it, I still think it hasn't really sunk in although she's only nursed once in the last week and a half. Like everyone who's nursed a 2 year old (I think) I thought she would never want to stop. We were down to naptime and bedtime with some gentle mother-led/don't ask don't refuse weaning for the past several months. Then last Sunday my MIL put her down for a nap while she was babysitting and then she didn't ask that night. I held my breath because I knew she would would ask again. I talked it over with my friend and LLL leader who's nursed 5 kids, and she said usually even if they ask again they only try for a moment and then realize they don't really remember how/don't really want it any more. So Friday night when she said, "I forgot to nurse!" I held my breath and let her, and she just nursed a few seconds on each side and then just asked me to sing to her and hold her. And she hasn't asked since then.
Like I said I am still in shock and I don't really think that I have processed it yet. I was mostly ready to be done because I'd been having a nursing aversion, but I wanted to nurse her as long as she needed it. I am very very grateful it happened on her terms.
Sorry for the novel, but it feels good to get that all out there! Thanks so much for the support from this check-in! I'll be lurking and wishing you all the very best!
So I'm a big fan of setting an alarm and temping at the same time each day.
Today's was crazy low - I was up with DD at 4am and didn't temp then - I realize now I should have because she was up again at 5:30. I guess I need to stop worrying so much about the time and just always temp the first time I wake up no matter how early?
