I'm kinda grumpy cause I woke up at 6am to go get stabbed in the arm 4 times for my 3hr glucose test and now my arm is bruised to hell and back. Also, I'm constantly hungry and all I want to do is eat but I know if I ate as much as my body wanted I'll be praying to the porcelain gods, which the glucose tests makes me plenty sick and needs no help from me binging for a day. ETA: @lest12 I hope your nausea subsides! @LoHerrim I hope you get to feeling better. And tell those contractions to knock it off! I hope today is better than yesterday and that your back gets to feeling better!
I finally felt my baby move!! I thought I was feeling flutters so I started pressing on my stomach so see if I could find where my baby was and he (or she) kicked me back!!! I've felt so disconnected this pregnancy... Finally feeling definite movement made me cry. I'm sure my DH thought I was nuts.
@loherrim - I think I just need to suck it up and keep eating carbs. It's all that helps (and probably why I am gaining weight like such a champ!)
Thank you though I hope you feel better quickly. Sorry yesterday was so rough
-------------------------------------------------- I have to start the day out with carbs and fruit otherwise it's no bueno. But after my stomach settles, I can eat about anything I want. But it all gives me heartburn. Even toast lol. Ugh quote fail
@loherrim - Toast gives me heartburn too! What the H? It's just toast!
@lest12 usually they wait til between 22-26 weeks. But I got mine early because of dizzy spells, seeing spots, all symptoms I experienced during my other two pregnancies when I had gestational diabetes. But yes everyone gets tested. Its a liquid sugar drink, either grape, lemon lime, orange, or fruit punch. You have 5mins to drink it and its 10fl oz and ice cold which makss it harder to drink, IMO, but if you pass your 1hr you dont have to do a 3hr.
Oh and before you drink the "glucose cocktail" they draw blood, then you drink the cocktail in 5 mins and an hour from when you finish it the will draw your blood again and compare your fasting numbers with your end result.
Thanks @lest12 & @LoHerrim but I know I have gestational diabetes, once you have it during a pregnancy you pretty much have it for all recurring pregnancies unless the phlebotomosist screws up the test like they did my sister and made her take insulin that was very much not needed. I'm just hoping water helps and the plus side is the sugar makes Squishy go crazy in there so she's/he's been kicking, rolling, and moving around a ton which is always nice because I found out I have an anterior placenta which explains why I can only feel baby on the sides.

Also, I have horrible insomnia. I only sleep every other day or every two days. And the dizzy spells are kicking in and when I stood up from sitting on the couch I got so dizzy I started coughing until the water I was drinking came out of my nose
I have had a terrible held cold for days and woke up this morning to my first stretchmark on my stomach. At 18 weeks and no weight gained I didn't expect to see one so soon. Bummer!
I'm on the brink of joining the no sleep club. I was up 3 times last night but every time it took forever to fall back asleep and I just can't get comfortable. I probably need to invest in a pregnancy pillow sometime soon.
Oh, and sore hips today! Could be because I ran two days in a row (I usually take a rest day in between) but man... I'm waddling and it's not even from my belly - it's my hips!
I finally slept last night. It was wonderful but now I'm so drowsy and just want my bed. My stomach is super tight today so im trying to do the least amount of work today. Also, I've been getting this weird sharp pain just in my belly button. Is that due to stretching? I don't feel gassy at all.
I couldn't sleep at all last night. When I did actually fall asleep, I was dreaming weird dreams and it woke me up. I've had a headache all day as well as heartburn. Oh and the pubic bone pain is getting old.
June 2014 - June Siggy Challenge - Favorite Hottie
I never had vertigo till yesterday. Holy hell! I seriously thought about just laying on the floor of the bathroom with my pillow and blanket. I made DH drive me to work today cause I didn't trust myself to drive.
I am usually an excellent sleeper, but I woke up several times last night and am exhausted today. I hope this isn't an ongoing trend.
Also - I have been absolutely starving for the past few days. There is not enough food in the world to fill me up. I guess this little dude is going through a growth spurt or something...I have the opposite of an eating disorder right now.
February Siggy Challenge - Picture of You and DH. Us with our engagement pumpkins. DH carved each word of "Will You Marry Me" and the date 10/11/12 into five dfferent pumpkins.
I'm only getting up once or twice int he middle of the night to pee now. Unfortunately I seem to have become the lightest sleeper so I'm still only getting 5-6 hours broken up. I don't want to do anything today, I have been constantly hungry and I have a minor headache. Overall, I'm okay.
I hope everyone's symptoms subsize or ease up soon! I mean the not so fun ones. The kicking/rolling ones can stay. ;;)
For me, my feet are so flippin' itchy! I've had to sit at my desk with my shoes for relief! I'm going to mention at my next midwife appointment and just hope it isn't anything serious.
@deedee830 my feet started itching last night! I was making dinner and I had to stand on one foot so I could scratch with the other! I think it may be because I'm swollen and my skin is stretching. I'm definitely going to ask at my next appt.
Also, my sense of smell has been going crazy! Last night my DH almost didn't get lucky because the smell of his aftershave was so strong, never bothered me before.
21 weeks today! I'm feeling so tired. I'm trying to walk on the treadmill but my crotch hurts. I'm also feeling bloated and ate too much pizza this weekend. I gained 2 pounds since Friday
@jacksoha, isn't it annoying!!! I've heard it can be a sign of liver issues, but since I seem to notice it most when at work and while wearing boots, I'm hoping it'll go away once the snow melts.
Okay so I'm on the same boat as a lot of you girls.. Can't get comfortable/insomnia/exhausted. I try not to drink too much caffeine but on some days I really need it. After working 8 hours I just feel soo dead. My poor DH and I barely spend any time together anymore cause I just want to pass out the second that I get home from work! I even tried unlocking my front door with my car button today, that's how tired and foggy my brain is. & I don't even bother making plans on the weekends anymore cause I feel different everyday! Have any of you found a way to lessen the tiredness or work around it? Maybe it's completely normal but it's kind of making me sad that I can barely make it through a whole day.
Fighting the flu today. Sticking to water and vitamin c. Hopefully that's enough. Don't want to medicate. At least I can satisfy my craving for chicken soup today. And as I will be in bed I am going to try to finish up a blanket I've been working on. Hope everyone enjoys their Monday.
@deedee830 it is sooo annoying! I've never heard that it could be a sign of liver issues but I haven't looked into it and I'm a FTM. Hopefully it will go away for you when the snow melts!
Anytime I have to walk around much, especially after working all day, my stomach is tight and I get a really bad stitch in my side. I'm trying to drink more water but it doesn't seem to help. I'm also exhausted all the time. Boo!
EEK! My lower back/butt hurts so bad, especially on the right side. It's going on 2 weeks and seems to be getting worse... I can't sit too low (i.e. cross-legged on the floor, or in the little kid chairs at work) without struggling to get up and it's becoming nearly impossible to put on my pants and boots... I'll need DH to dress me soon! What to do ladies? Anyone? Midwife appt. tomorrow, so hopefully she'll have answers... but experience with this and/or advice would be lovely ladies! And, thanks in advance

This is probably a question for my doctor's office but how do glucose tests work? Do they test everyone? When does it usually happen?
I am maybe the most clueless pregnant lady ever. I'm really just winging it.
@loherrim - Toast gives me heartburn too! What the H? It's just toast!

Thanks, @Loherrim and @mommy23munchkins!
That does sound pretty miserable... Hope your day improves and the test results come back negative.
That is a bummer but I'm glad there's a plus side
