Props to DH

Even though last night I got so irritated having to watch him sleep on the couch while I nursed ds that I threw everything within reach at him (saline bottle, water bottle, snot sucker thingy-he did not even stir btw), I really need to give him props for being so amazing. He has really been incredible since ds came, it's like a whole new husband. He even told me today that he's fallen even more in love with me and that me being a mommy turns him on big time. Although he's said some pretty off the wall things to me and we got a little testy with each other during my pregnancy, I feel very blessed to have such a great daddy for my ds.

Anyone else discovered a whole new man?

Late at night, when we were still in the hospital, I saw him sitting up with our newborn son, flipping through pictures on his phone, trying to figure out which ones he'd like, then reporting back to me.

I had no idea how well he would take to fatherhood, really.

Yes. My DH has been absolutely amazing this whole pregnancy. Let me vent, helped me with everything and never complained about having to do a little more because I fell asleep on the couch. However, last night made me fall in love with him all over again. Our little one is going through a growth spurt (it didn't even click on why she kept wanting to feed every hour when she had been going a solid 3 hours and a 5 hour stretch at nights) so she and I are in bed. She is screaming, DH comes in, takes her no questions asked and just starts walking with her and singing. Tells me to go to sleep as it looks like it's gonna be a rough night. I was able to get a solid hour before I stirred and saw him sitting on the floor by the heat vent w DD fast asleep. I take her and she slept for 4 hours before I woke her to feed.

Yes! MH is a whole new man! My hopes weren't very high for him going into pregnancy and such but ever since DS has been born he's awesome! He loves to read to him, it's adorable! And DS adores his daddy, he won't eat for me but he eats for him. And DH is oddly more attracted to my post pregnancy body. He's helping me cope with all the changes and is always there when I need him. I can't wait to see how he'll be when DS comes home.

Dh changed every diaper in the hospital and has never complained no matter how fussy or Polly she gets when I hand her off. I melt whenever I hear him singing his cute little made up just -for -her-songs!

DH has been great. I feel so blessed. He went to our niece's first birthday party and told everyone there that he loved me before and on the day we married, we became a family, but with this little guy, he feels like our family is now complete and seeing me with DS has made him fall even more in love with me. When MIL told me that, I totally teared up.

I am not surprised, but it still melts my heart how good of a dad and partner he is. He does all the diaper changes, and he closes the door if he's upset so I don't get stressed out. The best is overhearing how he talks to Jude, or how genuinely he laughs when Jude does something cute/sweet. He also has taken to reading aloud to him when he's napping, just from whatever book or magazine he's reading. So. Sweet.

ETA: Also, he just brought me a glass of wine, so 10 more gold stars.
