Trying to Get Pregnant

NTTGPR: BB Cream

Hi ladies!

I have been working on getting out of my boring makeup routine lately and trying some new products which most recently includes BB Cream. I bought the Bobbi Brown one over the weekend and am still on the fence of how I like it...

My question is, if you wear this, how are you applying it? What are you putting under it or over it if anything? If you also use concealer, do you put that on over the BB cream, under it or separate from it?

I put lotion under it yesterday and I did not like the feeling... today I just put it where I had dry patches and it seemed to work better.  I also am liking the way that a bit of powder looks over it, more finished looking I think.

Thanks and have a great day!

Re: NTTGPR: BB Cream

  • I use (and love!) Peter Thomas Roth CC cream. I put that on and then lightly brush a mineral foundation over it. I use Laura Mercier.  No concealer for me.  My under eyes are super dry and concealer always looks caked on

  • I use BB cream and I love it. I just use the cheap Garnier one though. I have very dry skin so I put on my regular moisturizer first and then the BB cream and then some light powder.

  • I use Dr. Jaart and love it. I use it on its own (well, over moisturizer) because I like sheer coverage. I mostly just even out some redness around my nose and cheeks. I don't even know what to do with powder, but I'm sort of a makeup moron. I usually use my fingertips to apply, but occasionally bust out the foam triangle. I tried a Garnier and Loreal one that I hated, so I decided to "invest" in some from Sephora and have been really happy with it.

  • I've tried a bunch of BB creams and I always put it on with my fingertips after cleansing and moisturizing, but I usually don't start putting makeup on right away. I do use concealer on my nose and I put that on after the BB cream (which I think might be "wrong"). I also apply some pressed powder with a puff.

I use Clinique CC cream and apply it over Loreal RevitaLift Miracle Blur which helps fill in small lines.   Then I apply concealer over top if needed and finish with powder.
Let's talk about this. All hype? Actually works? My crows feet are getting out of control.

Maybe I should save this for my Friday confession, but... I don't really know what BB cream is.

Haha "beauty balm." It's all the rage in makeup--less than foundation, more than tinted moisturizer. And it does like....all this shit in one: smooths, tones, covers, hydrates, does your laundry.

  • Dr. Jaart's CC Essence Balm.  I apply using the sponge that comes with it over my moisturizer.  I use Philosophy Hope in a Jar SPF25 every day.  If I don't, my skin gets angry with me.

Sometimes I need additional concealer, so I use Lancome Effacernes.

I'm with you! I totally thought this was going to be about some sort of cream for your boobies.

  • I'm a professional makeup artist... I use the Smashbox BB cream on myself. It covers great (I have a bit of redness all the time without makeup) and my face still feels clean and really soft with it in. Great stuff! Use your fingers and blend in as you would your moisturizer!
  • I use Este Lauder BB cream. I have no particular order that I use it, depends on where I'm going.

If I'm going now where I use it alone. Sometimes with or without moisturizer underneath depends if I remember. If I'm going out to dinner I use it as a primer with my Dior airbrush foundation. I apply mine with one of those blending sponges or a brush, sometimes both.

I've used a few brands but since most brands only have a couple of colors the Este Lauder has the closest match to my completion so I like it best. I have some Clinique too that's a little but lighter and I don't like it. I use it and any samples I get when I'm going swimming.
    Fucking bump!!!!
  • thank you all so much for your input! I will keep going with this and make it work ;)
