EPers

New week.

How is everyone doing?

How much milk is your little one drinking and how often?

Any supply increases?

Have you tried any lactation cookies to increase supply?

I'm going to bump Emma up to 3.5 ounces today. She has been fussy the last two days so I'm wondering if she's just hungrier. She has been eating every 2 hours I'm hoping to make it every 2.5 hours so I can start pumping less before I go back to work.

My supply has increased to 40-45 ounces a day.

I did lactation cookies and I really think they worked. Not to mention they are delicious!!!

Hope everyone has a great week.

Re: EPers

  • New week.

How is everyone doing? Good.  DH and I went away for 2 days and got stuck in snow storm so pumping schedule got thrown off. My boobs hated me...(FYI McDonalds do not have outlets in their bathrooms to pump)

How much milk is your little one drinking and how often? He is 12 weeks at drinking 5 ounces every 3 hours.  Cant increase due to reflux

Any supply increases?  catching up due to schedule being thrown off

Have you tried any lactation cookies to increase supply? no.  I have been consistentlygetting around 50oz a day

  • Doing so so this week. I keep trying to get him to nurse, this is probably the main reason I am still trying to maintain a supply, but he is a chomper! He still has his shallow latch that I can't get corrected and the very sad thing is he transfers really well. So he can do it but I can't. With this and my PPD/PPA I may have to give up soon. The only meds that work for me are a no no when it comes to breastfeeding. LO drinks 4oz every 2.5-3 hours during the day and wakes once at night, he gets anywhere from 24-28oz. The most I have ever been able to produce is 26oz and I have tried everything, I try not to stress about it anymore and just pump what I can pump and then he gets formula, I have been thinking of giving his last bottle of the night as all formula so I can start stashing a couple of ounces everyday. On a side note this is the week we travel so I get to see what it's like to not only go through an airport with a baby but a pump too! This should be interesting lol!
  • Pumping right now at work! Everything is going fine. Spencer is eating 4 ounces every 3-4 hours. He usually eats 6 times a day so 24 oz total. I am just keeping up with him pumping 24 oz per day. I've tried fenugreek, pumping often, oat meal, lots of water....nothing I do seems to increase my supply. Maybe I should try the lactation cookies...of there is a dairy, soy, wheat and egg free version :) Edited for fat fingers...

I am also dairy, and wheat free. I know the important things to lactation cookies is oatmeal and flax. So I was thinking of trying a vegan peanut butter oatmeal cookie and add in flax! If I can find a good recipe I will share!
  • Doing well, but starting back at work next week which will be tricky. I have a long commute and very busy days.

I don't track how much LO eats, but I'd guess between 24-30 oz. he eats 4-5oz every 4 hours or so. I pump between 50-60opd.

I haven't tried anything to increase supply. It's been increasing steadily and I don't want any more!

  • Doing okay. Sad that this is my last week of maternity leave. B just turned 11wks Sunday and is currently eating 3.5oz every 3hrs or so. No supply increases. Still getting 24-27oz daily. This allows me to freeze so e as we give one formula feed to B overnight. Several weeks ago I started go Lacta to help with production. It did help, but I seem to have leveled off this week and last. I aso have the mothers tea, which isn't bad.
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.
  • Hi! I started back at work last week and so far so good. I gave in and bought a freestyle because I am so over hauling the medela from my insurance and being stuck in place for 15-20 minutes. The freestyle is awesome- so much easier and love the mobility. My LO is 10 weeks and drinks 3 oz every 2 hours. I get 3-4 hour sleep stretches at night and I eliminated my MOTN pump since going back to work. My last pump is around 1030 and my morning pump is around 0600 and I pump every 3-4 hours between. I get around 40 oz a day. I'm trying to figure out what to do about freezing now because some of the frozen milk that I thawed out smelled sour. I'm going to try scalding to figure out if it's lipase but if anyone has any tips I would appreciate it! Thanks!
  • OP, I LOVE you! I had no idea about these lactation cookies you speak of! Making them tomorrow (as if I needed an excuse to make cookies)!

The important part is brewers yeast. I ordered some from amazon.

  • Here's a recipe for you gluten, dairy, egg-free people. I made them once and they are pretty good.
