40 Weeks 1 Day Prego

So yesterday was supposed to be my due date, unfortunatley i dis not go into labor :( last monday when my dr checked me i was only 1cm dilated. This is so frustrating to me. This is my first baby so please understand i am very lost and eager to have my baby in my arms already!! Its so annoying when people keep telling me to walk, YES i have been walking and nothing still! Tomorrow is my dr appt so hopefully i am dilated more oh and i do get contractions but not frequent enough. I been trying to keep busy but i am just so damn anxious that it makes me annoyed by my husband and family members. My baby is still moving a storm and i cant wait to hold her in my arms!!!!! Any advice!?

    I was 41+2 with my first. It sucked but as soon as she was here I instantly forgot all about it!

    The average for most FTM is 41 weeks so you probably have a bit longer. Remember your due date is just an estimate and not the exact day your LO will be born. I know it is frustrating waiting and wondering when you will go into labor. It will happen when the time is right though!  I heard a saying and used it a lot at the end of my pregnancy- the best birthday is the one your LO picks for themselves. Hang in there and be patient, your LO will be here soon!

    I agree with PP you just need to be patient, baby will come when its ready. With the first it is not uncommon to go past your due date. Mine was born 40w5d. Just keep yourself occupied, enjoy some last quiet moments with just you and your husband, not a bad idea to try to have sex, and relax or do some last minute nesting! You will need some good energy for what is about to happen to your body.

    I know time seems to drag slowly at that point but in the blink of an eye you will be holding your little one.  It is hard to be patient but that is the best thing that you can do right now.  You are fraying your own nerves because you keep anticipating it so much.  Try and do things that make you happy to relax and enjoy these last days of feeling your child inside.  Before soon that will just be a distant memory and I remember fondly how much I enjoyed feeling the kicks.  Its alllll worth it in the end.

    As hard as it is, there's not much you can do. Your baby will come when both baby and your body are ready. Both my kids came at 40 weeks 4 days.
