Afraid of Vacuum

This is a question purely out of curiosity, but is your little one scared of the vacuum. D has never had a problem with the vacuum, but as of Friday he flips out like I have never seen. I tried to vacuum again today when he was in the kitchen with DH and he still had a massive freak out. I guess I am going to have to vacuum at bed time from now on. I am assuming it is a phase and that it is normal, but I was curious if other little ones are afraid of the vacuum cleaner.

IVF with ICSI #1: ER 12/16 (4 ER/3 Mature/0 Fertilized) 
IVF with ICSI #2: ER 5/17 (4 ER/4 Mature/3 Fertilized)/ET 5/20 (2 embryos transferred)-BFN 
IVF with PICSI #3: ER 9/8 (11 ER/8 Mature/7 Fertilized)/ET 9/13 (2 AA blastocysts transferred) 
Beta#1, 9/26/12: 719 Beta#2, 9/28/12: 1,436 Beta#3, 10/1/12: 3,446
1st u/s on 10/10/12: It's Twins! We found out on 12/16/12 that we were having two BOYS!
C & D were born on 5/16/13 at 10:46 am and 10:47 am

    Oh yeah- TERRIFIED!! I can't vacuum when they are awake or they scream and cry so bad they will shake from fright. The dustbuster is even worse. They don't even like to see it!

    I suppose it's my punishment for not vacuuming enough when they were tiny!

    I guess it is mine as well, lol, because before we reached this point it seemed like there wasn't enough time in the day to vacuum. Now that they are more independent and we have a play yard in the living room where they can play with their toys and I don't have to worry as much about them getting into something they shouldn't be, I can get more things accomplished.

    DS was fearless until he hit 13 months and now even the blender and my blowdryer freak him out. Must be a developmental stage they go through?
    DH and I are Americans living an adventure in Kenya since 2011
    DX: PCOS (annovulatory)
    Feb 2012: IUI #1 w/ only 1M sperm and a single follie = BFP! 
    Nov 2012: Little buddy born in Kenya
    Nov 2013: Trying for a second, still w PCOS
    Dec 2013: IUI cycle canceled for non-response
    Jan 2014: Break cycle BFP!

    Mine still hates it! I have to hold him on my hip while I vacuum. Much more work

    Married: 5/09 ~ TTC Since: 10/10 ~ PCOS ~ Progesterone from 10/10 - 2/11 ~ HSG on 3/18 - Clear ~ Started Metformin 1000mg & Clomid 50mg 2/11 ~ Metformin upped to 1500mg 4/6 ~ 6/7 Now going to SG and put on Clomid, Ovidrel, Gonal F, Prometrium, Estrace ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP!!!!!! March 6th our little man was born. 

    6/17/13 - Ovidrel, Follistim, Prometrium ~ IUI #1 7/2 = BFP! March 17th our St. Pattys day baby arrived

    10/29/17 - Started process for IVF, got pregnant & miscarried a 2nd time since summer. 2/22 started stims - Menopur, Gonal F, Cetrotide - retrieval 3/6 - , PIO, estrace 3xday - FET 4/18 = Beta 1: 616; Beta 2: 1342 = BFP

    DS hates anything that makes a loud noise....vacuum, blender, blow dryer.  He puts his hands up like someone said freeze and cries lol. I laugh now but I brought it up to the Pedi, because I am freakishly always concerned something is wrong, and Pedi said "he's just sensitive to loud noises, it's normal."  I felt like an A** but I felt better lol.

    @mcgeeva same here! I hold him while I vacuum or try to get Daddy to take him somewhere else and play.

    Haha yep that is me too. And the dog is also afraid of it so he scrambles fast.

    DS and DD#1 hated the vacuum too - then we got an electrolux ultra silencer canister vacuum when DS was 2.5 and DD was 15 months.  They LOVE it.  The fight over helping because it isn't very loud.  I will let them vacuum our floors sometimes while I am doing other things...
