Stay at Home Moms

random- bras. or lack of them.

do you ever not wear a bra in public?

I was at story time today and noticed this mom did not have a bra on. And she had a very thin t-shirt on. lol. I was like wth. My friend said she (the women i saw today) never wears a bra when ever she sees her, for easy access for nursing her 20 month old.

Re: random- bras. or lack of them.

  • Err, no. I have very small boobs and would still never consider that.

  • Bra always. I wear it from when I wake up to when I go to bed. Only time it's not on is when I'm sleeping or in the shower

  • Uh yea.  No.  My boobs have always been far from perfect and in need of help.  Even when I was BF DS I always had a nursing bra and shirt on.  Granted, it was generally the same 2 shirts I wore every day because they were the easiest, but yea.  The girls were always supported.

Oh, but at home, by myself, not really.
  • Always. Even to bed. I never used to wear anything to bed but since having kids, my girls need support all the time. Ew, can't imagine not wearing one in public.

  • oh yikes!  I'd scare someone if I didn't wear a bra.  I have big ones.

I was at the playground with an informal moms group in the fall and I noticed one of the other moms didn't have a bra on.  She was also wearing a thin cotton t-shirt.  I don't get it.

I don't think small boobs means you don't need a bra.  I've seen many women who either need a bra or where a couple layers.  I don't need to see nipple.
  • Even when DD was nursing non-stop I have always worn a bra in public.  At home is a totally different story.

  • I essentially never wear a bra in the colder months. I'm on the itty bitty titty committee and find bras just cause discomfort without serving any actual purpose. For example, today I'm wearing a tight fitting tank, a long sleeved shirt, and a sweater, so you can't tell.
When it's t-shirt weather, I just wear a sports bra.

There's one hippy mom that I see fairly often around town who doesn't wear one, is fairly large chested, and flaunts it. She always has all the dads gathered around her at the playgrounds, haha. It makes me so uncomfortable...

  • I haven't left the house without a bra since middle school! I was a 28C by 7th grade and am now a 32GG, so no way I could get away with it! I do go without when I'm home and not expecting company because I find bras horrible uncomfortable

  • Bra.

    Always bra.

I would be petrified of leaking milk all over BF in public without a bra. Ick.

  • I've ran to the store late, or ran the girls to school in a hoodie w/o a bra. Never in a T-shirt.

When not nursing my boobs are small enough that I don't need one for support, but I always wear one for coverage. While nursing I need one for support and to protect my sensitive nipples. Also, especially with a toddler, I prefer to restrict access. DS1 nursed frequently but it was not a "free range" situation. I rarely nursed in public as he got older and I told him no if it wasn't convenient. The more he saw my boobs the more he would ask. Also, I wanted to keep him from grabbing my other boob while nursing. He did it anyway and that shit is annoying.

ETA: I always wear nursing tanks rather than bras for the belly coverage.

  • I've gone out to go through a drive-through with just a t-shirt and hoodie/sweatshirt on, and I wore a nursing sleep bra out for the first few months or so of DS' life, but that's about it. When at home, though, I wear a bra roughly 0% of the time.

  • I've been in a bra since I was like 12, and I'm pretty sure I haven't ever left the house without one. And I wouldn't. I'm WAY too big chested for that.

  • I have itty bitties that while nursing I love.. Lol. But I have to wear something because I'm a leaker... Not nursing, I can get away with just a tank top with a little support in it for the summer. I hate wearing a bra, especially at night. That's the only thing about nursing I dislike is wearing something at night.

We are just tiny boob people trapped in big boobs.
We are! Gah! I miss my bitty Bs
  • When I was 25, all body parts were in their assigned spots, and going to a club? Sure, I'd go bra-less if the outfit called for it.

Now that I have droopy city going on? No way. I'm not even comfortable around the house alone without one. I do sleep without though.
