Intro: Did not expect to be here

Hi, Ladies. I started lurking around here a week or so ago, and I've got good feelings about this board.

I'll be 37 next week, and I've been married ten years. We've always talked about having a child when the time was right, but between employment struggles (mine and his) and health issues (his and mine), the timing never seemed to be right. It's still not great. So there I was, minding my own business, and all of a sudden this fall my ovaries started screaming at me to reproduce. We had house guests over the holidays and hosted a NYE party, so we decided to wait until January to get down to business. Now I'm going through my first 2WW, and I think I'm about to go insane.

I thought I'd want to just relax and enjoy TTC, so I haven't been tracking my BBT or CM, and I'm only guessing on when I ovulated this month. I do track my menses enough to know that it was probably 10-12 days ago (around CD 15, per FF). My cycles are pretty regular, but this month I started cramping and spotting about five days earlier than normal (CD 22). I usually get that for a couple of days before AF begins. Since that was something out of the ordinary for me, I took a couple of tests this morning. The FRER had a very faint, barely pink line, and the drugstore-brand blue dye test was negative. So now I'm waiting to see if AF arrives in a few days. I took a three-hour nap today just to take my mind off it! My feelings of compassion for everyone who has been TTC for a long time are very high right now.

Other pertinent info about me: I'm a Type 2 diabetic (taking metformin) who loves long walks and weight lifting. I have mild gastroparesis & not-so-mild GERD. I'm the breadwinner of the household. We have one dog and one cat. I'm super anxious about what my friends and family will say if I'm lucky enough to have to tell them that I'm pregnant, as they've all assumed that I don't want children.

best wishes on this emotional journey. I don't track with temps or cm either but I use opks. I found out I ovulate late.

IFinTN, I have absolutely no confidence in this any of this yet, but will happily scoot over to the other board if/when necessary.Thanks for the heads up. I'm a FB addict and participate in a lot of health & fitness groups there, but don't spend a lot of time on message boards, so helpful tips are very much appreciated.

Welcome to the group. I hope ur stay won't be too long. Honestly majority of the ladies here didn't expect getting pregnant to be an obstacle. Lots if sticky dust if u really r prego

Thanks! I am sooo not an optimist by nature, so I tend I be skeptical about any potentially good things. I feel like I shouldn't have even mentioned the FRER. I'm probably just seeing things & it's messing with my mind.
